This is the first "new" entry in the Silent Hill series (not counting remake) that actually lives up to it's name since team silent disbanded. It is different. VERY different from anything in the franchise so far and for allot of people the difference may be quite polarising. The setting and combat will be a step away from what you expect from a SH game. But I encourage you to stick with it and enjoy a game that really is beautiful both graphically and in its writing. Look forward to unlocking more endings in NG+. :)

An absolutely beautifully written story told absolutely beautifully.

It's fairly short by today's standards but, this game contains absolutely no filler. It is a good 5 hours of nail biting, heart pounding, terrifying, beautiful fun. You'll find yourself often stopping just to take in the gorgeous visual design. Looking through the deeply detailed environments. Graphically, this game is truly stunning.

Then there is the acting... Wow. Just... wow. You won't find a game that beats the caliber of the voice acting talent in this game. Not just the main character but all of the supporting characters are excellent too. Which in itself contributes to just how well this game tells it's story. Which it does wonderfully.

A fairly beefy PC is required to run at the highest settings. With a 3080 and a 7800X3D I got a smooth experience on the "High" preset at 4K using DLSS set to "Quality".

A very cinematic, story driven, linear horror of the highest caliber.

Hours and Hours of fun with friends! Friends that love the company. Must... Love... Company... Wuh... We... WE LOVE THE COMPANY! THE COMPANY!

While I have only played around 3 hours so far. This has already blown me away. Both graphically and gameplay wise, the best VR game I have played so far. But then again, were we expecting anything else?

UPDATE: I have just completed the game and... IF you are a Half-Life fan and own a VR headset, You probably already have this but if you don't stop hesitating and buy it now! You NEED this game. You NEED IT. Absolute blockbuster of a masterpiece from Valve. This was 100% worth the 13 year wait and I hope what Valve have said about this only being the beginning of Half-Life's revival comes to fruition!

I have been following this project since the Mod and have just finished my first beginning-to-end play through since the whole of Xen dropped and wow... Just wow... I cannot thank you enough, Crowbar Collective, for this amazing labour of love. Because that's exactly what it is. Right from the moment you load in to this game for the first time, you will be frantically scanning each scene and level with amazement at the attention to detail that has clearly been put in. Utterly amazing. For me, it is between this and RE:2 being the best 'remakes' ever made in my honest opinion. And that is without even mentioning the astounding soundtrack that, while staying faithful to the original and while maintaining a very 'Valve sound', feels original and thoroughly cinematic.

I didn't think anybody loved HL quite as much as me but the Crowbar Collective clearly do, and it really REALLY shows.

THE first early access i don't regret buying in to. At all. Thanks again.
