The place is sparsely populated. Barry sits at a booth. A WAITRESS brings him a menu.

As Barry checks out the menu, THREE POLICE CARS screech to a halt across the street. Their lights strobe inside of the diner.


WAITRESS
I wonder what's goin' on over
there?
BARRY
Do you have whiskey?
WAITRESS
No. We have herbal tea?
BARRY
I'll have herbal tea.

The waitress takes his menu.

Barry notices she's holding a SCRIPT.

BARRY (cont'd)
What do you have there?
WAITRESS
I've got an audition tomorrow.
(smiles)
I'm an actor.

Barry smiles back.

BARRY
So am I.
