I enjoyed CS, BF1942, BF3 when those games were coming out. But it has been awhile since I've gotten into an FPS game. I have played other FPS games here and there to play with friends, never getting hooked on them like I used to. I thought maybe my FPS itch had been satisfied. That was until I played Battle Bit.

Battle Bit takes me back to playing those other games for the first time and feels not only in the same spirit but a natural evolution to those games.
That said it's not a perfect game :

My Favorite Things:
- It's $15, it's literally cheaper than a movie ticket near me.
- Solid Gunplay
- Solid netcode (don't feel like I'm getting cheated by Lag... generally)
- 127v127 is insane, and I love it. It is overwhelming at first but now, other games seem empty
- The graphics : while at first it's kinda cheesy, it actually makes the gameplay really clear while still being immersive. You forget the game looks like this pretty quickly
- Destruction of environments, and eventually whole buildings is so cool
- Drag fallen Teammates to heal them and Enemies to taunt them
- Proximity voice IP leads to funny interactions like at the start of the game, or after an enemy kills you
- The depth to the game (the guns, customization, amount of levels) is impressive.
- The game feels like a solid balance between a tactical mil-sim and a shooter like COD. Where there's a choice between the two, it leans towards fun (not just for you but for other people in the game).
- Community is actually pretty good so far. People thank medics, roleplay when they're hurt, etc. The people who are playing the game right now make it really fun and interesting. But this could change as the audience who plays changes, but I hope it doesn't.

Things that could improve
- There's a learning curve that is not too steep but is rewarding to climb.
- The balance could use some work. SMGs are insane, as are mid-range scoped sniper rifles (It has even turned me into a competent sniper).
- They should tell you which map you are in on the score screen or somewhere.
- The Map Voting could use more variety, you end up playing the same maps over and over again since the community is rotating between just three of them. If you happen to not like one then you are OOL.

Being a DnD Nerd and a fishing fan, it's hard to imagine a game that could appeal to my love of dark world building and fishing, but here's Dredge. And they pulled it off, I really liked this game. There's a decent amount of world building, a lot of fun little nuggets here and there, and the quest line was straightforward while still having a lot of stuff to do on the side while being rewarding for however you choose to move forward.

The game also sets up the story and gives you the options you can take to determine how things end, with a sufficient build up along the way. I enjoyed the story a lot.

The only thing I don't like is I feel I have finished the game already and I've owned it for three days. I'll come back and visit it again, but I'd love to get another story in this world with these game mechanics.

I enjoyed this game, I'm new to the 'roguelike' genre. I'm used to traditional RPG type things where you grind and build a character over time. With Hades you go on 'runs' through the underworld and during that run you gain powers and abilities. But when the run is done (either because you complete it or you die) you start over for the next run. There are certain things that persist between runs (ability to reroll options, extra cash, extra health, death saves) so as you play more, you become stronger within the runs. And when you reach a certain point you can start unlocking 'bounties' that let you make the game more challenging to balance your rising power - even though each run your character starts collecting abilities all over again.

Hades has amazing writing, theme, music, voice acting, art, direction, etc. The gameplay feels so precise and I generally feel like I have control over the game (maybe more so cause I've been playing so much fall guys where it seems I have little control over that bean).

I'm still overwhelmed after beating the game with the depth of options that it presents and sometimes will watch a streamer and say "I have no idea what that ability is".

My only downside for the game is that the runs typically take about 20-30 minutes in game time for me, or about 30-45 minutes real life time? I do wish it was a little faster so I could play it more often.
