An amazing game. It took me a few hours to get into because it was too easy at first. My biggest problem with pokemon and why i can't enjoy it is because it's mind-numbingly easy. It doesn't take long for this game to pick up. I found myself dying consistently to bosses a few hours in and that's where this game starts to shine and stand out on its own. Don't be deceived by how it looks. This game has plenty of depth to it. Your strategy and team synergy is very important in this game. It makes you always think about your team makeup and how to improve it because you're constantly being challenged. Another bonus here is don't be afraid to change your monsters out or change the allocation of the skill points on them. The game makes it very easy to make these kind of changes so you can always try new things. i myself had three different team setups i would switch out depending on who/what i was fighting.

If i had to nitpick on anything i would say some puzzles were kind of annoying. I understand this game wanted to add metroidvania style gameplay and stuff but i thought that stuff was the weaker part of this game. I thoroughly enjoyed combat, but was annoyed when i ran into these brick walls of puzzles where i had to focus on doing that for 10-15 minutes. They're not long, but some puzzles seemed overly complex. I personally did not enjoy them because i was eager to get back to the combat and i'm not a huge fan of metroidvania mechanics anyway. You guys might differ here.

Another nitpick might be that i feel the base game is a little short. It just seemed like as my teams finally came together and my understanding of the game got to a good point, it was over. I got all the achievements in about 35 hours. You could definitely do it faster. I was a bit slow because i was just running around fighting things i didn't need to be fighting for a few hours. There is a new game +, a master mode, and the infinity arena to try out, but personally i would prefer the base game to be longer than to just repeat the same thing again. I'm not a huge fan of new game plus in general. Having said that there's plenty of replayability here. Going through new game plus doesn't sound completely terrible to me with this kind of game since you can try out new monsters and make new teams. There are 101 monsters so there's plenty of interesting teams you can make.

Overall, It's definitely worth a buy. This is a great game that's definitely worth your time. If you like pokemon, but want something different, maybe a bit more challenging, this is for you.

Amazing game. Definitely worth your time and money. Stop listening to the haters comparing it to dark souls. It's in a league of its own.

Amazing trip down memory lane. Scratched an itch I didn't even know i had. This game is by no means perfect. It's very rough around the edges and you could've even go as far to say it's kind of subpar in front of something like Hollow Knight. However, i loved this game. It brought me back to middle/high school when i played these kinds of games a lot. It did this in the most perfect way. So it's definitely a win for me, and i would also add, for anyone else who grew up playing these "Symphony of the Night" kind of Castlevania games. This is very much that kind of Castlevania game and it's glorious.

Great game! Very story driven with its unique atmosphere, somber tone, and horror noises to keep you at the edge of your seat while traversing the abyss. Not much "gameplay" since it boils down to stealthing past the monsters, but still worth your time because it gets great marks in everything else. I was hooked all the way til the end and was blown away by the ending. Overall, a really good 6-10 hour experience.

It was fun as a super casual, laid back game. The puzzles are easy. nothing challenging here. the abilities are interesting and you can combine them in fun ways, but theres nothing in the game to challenge you to do that since you can get by 99% of the game with one ability. Which is why this game doesn't really work as anything but a casual, don't take it seriously type of thing.

It's fun. Definitely an above average game. it's not too long either. A short, but decent 2d action game.

Pretty good game. Generic fps gameplay but the games' story and atmosphere kept me going. when i say generic gameplay i mean it doesn't really do anything unique, but the game works well. you've seen every mechanic here before. the game isn't too long and that helps it more than anything because i was still into it by the end. if the game was longer though i might've started getting bored and probably wouldn't have finished it.
