50 hours into this game and I hated it, 181 hours now and it's kind of growing on me.

Pros
  • Pretty good gunplay, which is one of things that New Vegas and Fallout 3 couln't get quite right. Combat used to be kind of janky, especially if you were going in and out of VATS all the time. VATS doesn't stop time anymore and criticals are now tied directly into VATS.
  • Workbenchs allow you to modify weapons and armor, really added to the whole nitty-gritty wasteland feel as you run around with mismatched armor and intimidating weaponrey.
  • Very nice looking world, Bethesda has always been pretty good about world-building in their games and FO4 is no exception. In NV, everyone complained that everything had an orange tint to it, in FO3, everyone complained that everything had a green tint, in FO4, they got the formula just right.
  • Nice soundtrack, I was a little disappointed that Bethesda wasn't able to get a larger selection of music for the radio stations, but overall it's a pretty nice blend of new songs and other songs that we've heard before (and a couple of original songs for the game). Additionally, the ambient music is excellent, they really fit well into the world Bethesda created (Nuka-Worlds ambient music in particular blew my mind, each park in Nuka-Wolrd had it's own exploring theme that matched the theme of the park, well worth it to get that DLC).
  • Tons of places to explore and things to do, that's pretty self-explanatory.

Mehs
  • Settlement building, technically it's optional and I personally enjoyed it. But the way that it was integrated into the game was a poor choice, it's basically crammed down your throat whenever you're doing the story.
  • Skills system, the skills system is completely overhauled, now you can have 10 in each category of your character's S.P.E.C.I.A.L., overall it felt like it was done out of laziness and not out of necessity for a better experience.
  • Some of the DLCs felt like they should've been included in the base game, mostly the stuff for settlements (Wasteland Workshop, I think it's called. If you want a good laugh, watch the trailer for it.). It left a bad taste in my mouth, I don't want to think of Bethesda as another money-grubbing game company that pumps their fanbase for cash.
  • Challeneged/changed several established things about the Fallout universe, it's mostly little things, but it was kind of annoying regardless.

Cons
  • Voiced protagonist, without a doubt, the thing I hated the most. Completely immersion breaking, completely going against every other game in the series, and completely stops your from role-playing as anyone else besides the original Sole Survivor, idfk why Bethesda chose to do this. The VAs themselves aren't bad, but it really made me not want to play through the game again because I knew I'd be hearing the same canned phrases repeated over and over again.
  • Dialogue wheel, this ruined the RPG aspect of this game. You have four options, two of them are the same (although one of them is "sarcastic") and three of them typically lead to the same result anyway (the fourth is just for asking questions). There are four options because there are four buttons on a console controller, but I'll get to that later. Bethesda tried to rip off the success of Mass Effects and The Witchers dialogue wheels, but they failed to realize that people want the Fallout dialogue system in a Fallout game.
  • Designed for consoles, no surprises here, consoles are still holding back the entire gaming community because of hardware limitations. Even the "HD texture pack" that was released only had about 40 gigabytes worth of textures because an actual HD texture pack would cause every 12 year-old's Xbox or Playstation to burst into flames. This leads me to my next point.
  • Left bugs for the modding community to fix, they didn't even try to hide it. The fact there is an unoffical patch that surpasses any and all of the updates Bethesda has released is kind of embarassing. It just makes Bethesda look lazy.
  • Radiant quests, nobody likes radiant quests. They're kind of cool in concept, but the result is just a bunch of questlines that never end. There's always going to be a settlement in trouble or a settler kidnapped and there's nothing you can do it about it, once again, I think this made Bethesda look kind of dumb because they know how flawed and unpopular they are (*cough* Oblivion *cough*).
  • Lack of diversity in VAs, every settler sounds the same, and they're all always complaining about how hard their lives are regardless of how many amenities you provide them at your settlement.
  • Disappointing story, twists were obvious imo, not as many joinable factions as they're should have been.

Overall, this wasn't a very good Fallout game, but it stands pretty well on its own.

The best survival game I've ever played. The atmosphere in this game is so thick that you could cut through it with a knife and then spread it on your toast, the frightening moments will have you sh*tting your pants (surrounded by a wolf pack and your last flare just ran out) and the rewarding moments will have you jumping out of your seat (finally found that elusive prepper cache chock full of supplies)

Isolation is really what made this game for me, it's only you vs. the wild from the start and god knows you'll do whatever it takes to win. Another thing that really makes this game for me is the very realistic inventory, you have a finite amount of weight you can carry, but you can choose to go over it. Be warned though, an overencumbered character moves slower and tires faster, not to mention they are also an easier target for aggressive wildlife.

TLD won't let you run through the forest swinging an axe to fell trees and strike down animals, every action consumes calories and time (two things that are in short supply most of your playthrough) and every action outsides adds the risk of exposure. Huge blizzards rip through the map every so often and gargantaun clouds of dense fog cloud everything, obscuring any potential hazards from your view.

In the first two hours of my playthrough, my character was already cowering in an abandoned coal mine with his clothes torn to shreds and multiple bleeding wounds. He also had food poisoning and was crying about how death would be welcome compared to the hell he was going through. Two seconds later, he died of severe dehydration and acute "wolf-bit-my-face-off" syndrome.

This game is brutal. Buy it.

Also see if you can break my record for consecutive wolf attacks (mine's seven).

After 489 hours of gameplay and all the recent hype for this game's successor, I feel compelled to write a review for it. Typically my reviews are long and arduous, but I'm going to really condense this one because I simply feel like there's not much you need to hear about this game.

M&B is packing on the years now, but it has aged like a fine wine from Southern France. This game is everything you want an open-world RPG to be, create your character's backstory, put some points into some attributes and then you ready to enter the chaotic world of Calradia, where your character can be just about anything from the commander of massive army to a wealthy travelling merchant, you can even be a ruthless bandit who plunders villages in the countryside if you want to.

M&B is a game that focuses on episodic combat where the player fights alongside their party, typically this leads to some highly entertaining scenarios where you end up beating the odds (my personal favorite, a player-controlled army of 200 soldiers defending a city under siege by an enemy war party of approx. 1000 soldiers. By the end of the battle, my characters entire body was coated in the blood of enemy and ally and alike, truely one of my favorite moments with this game).

If you ever get tired of vanilla gameplay, there's mods, I highly suggest getting Gekokujo, a mod that changes the game's entire setting to feudal Japan where you can slice and dice (and even shoot) your way to the top, it changes just about everything and adds a whole new level of gameplay.

I also recommend the Napoleonic Wars DLC, you can really tell that the dev team really poured their heart and soul into it. Unfortunately, NW is multiplayer only, but there's something incredible about playing as a footsoldier in a massive line battle as smoke obscures your sight and musket shots roll like thunder all around you or when you lead a calvary charge and your fellow comrades let out a rallying war cry as they prepare to cut down an enemy regiment with their sabers. Most of my playtime was spent in NW, I used to play it just about every day.

M&B Wardband is without a doubt, one of the best games I have ever had the privilege of playing. It's criminal how cheap this game and its DLC are, if this thing goes on sale, do not hesitate to buy it immediately.

This is probably one of the few times I've really looked forward to writing a review for a game. To condense everything I'm about to say, you should buy this game, it's a little off the beaten path but it has an amazing narrative, phenomenal visuals, and an incredible soundtrack. I got this game while it was 75% off and it was worth every single one of those five dollars, this game will leave a gaping hole in your life after you complete it.

It's filled with mystery and suspense; there were certainly times were I was freaked out (not by a cheap jumpscare though). The only major annoyance I had was having to scroll through the radio frequencies to solve a puzzle (it's a pretty central mechanic in the game) however, it's also part of the game, there's hidden messages and whatnot on the frequencies that you don't really need. Other than that one literal thing, this game was amazing.

I'll leave you with this because I don't wanna spoil anything about this game, the implications behind the ending are certainly thought-provoking.

A very unique game, the only way I can think of to describe Let's Starve is as an open-world survival game set in a very chaotic and zany world. To compress this review, I will say you should buy it because it's well worth the price, additionally you are getting an enormous amount of content, I also highly recommend all of the DLC.

Pros
  • The devs actually care about the game they created. Surprising, right? In all seriousness, the game developers have been always on-point with patching bugs and adding new content.
  • Worlds are randomly generated, so there's plenty of replay value.
  • A pretty good story that sets realistic goals for the player. Typically, most open-world survival games suffer greatly in the plot department *Cough* Minecraft *Cough*, but Don't Starve has a genuinely intriguing story that will leave the player hungering for more
  • Very unique crafting system, combines the best of science and magic, you will never look at the junk around your house as just "junk" ever again.
  • Wide variety of playable characters, each one with their own special ability (which are more like curses) and unique appearance. Another thing that really stood out to me was that there is no voice acting in this game, when a character talks, an instrument plays, and each character has a different instrument to represent their personality. In the big picture, it's a very small feature, but it is amazing immersion.
  • Amazing visuals, I've never seen another game like this in terms of graphics. This game is beautiful, sometimes even hauntingly so. Kudos to the artist/artists who designed visuals.

Cons
  • Hard to start out, not necessarily a steep learning curves by any means, but still requires a lot of trial and error to grasp the game mechanics. Alternatively, you could just look up the basics, but I like the sense of accomplishment after figuring something out on my own.
  • Frustrating at times, this isn't even a con in my opinion, but I'll add it because I've had enough people mention it to me. It's very easy to lose everything you've worked for in a span of few minutes and as I mentioned, there's a lot of trial and error in this game, personally, I feel that's just part of the game; but apparently some people find it very easy to rage out on this game.
  • Multiplayer will cost you $5, and both you and your friend have to buy it. It's a slight annoyance more than anything, but still something that irked me

I've already written a review for this game (With ~300 hours of gameplay), but now with over 600 hours of gameplay, I feel it's worth rewriting this.

Starting this game is not easy. Not for me, not for anyone. I used to watch my brother play for hours on end before I finally started joining him in these matches, the learning curve in this game is incredibly steep, there's no denying it. But when you finally start understanding the mechanics and start drafting right, it is truely euphoric.

But that's enough of that, let's simplify it a bit.

Pros:
  • There's a lot of depth to this game, you might ask yourself "in gameplay or in lore?", the answer to that question would be "yes"
  • Variety, there's lots of it in DotA, no two matches are alike. There are currently 111 playable characters (Called "Heroes") and ~130 items.
  • Basically, you're going to learn to do math very fast in your head, no lies, I'm better at math because of this game
  • A f*ckton of cosmetic items (Honestly, too many to count), also, special cosmetics called arcanas that can completely change the way a hero talks, looks, and even how they walk
  • HUUUUGE competitive scene (And on a an international level, too), we're talking about tournaments where the winning team wins over 1 mil. each.
  • No crappy "key and crate" drop system, you get a crate? Good, now you can open it, no buying keys by the f*ckton to get ms-paint looking items anymore (Also, no duplicate drops from these crates)

Cons:
  • There is a lot of room for improvement here, after every big update, there's a period of time where matchmaking is chaos from people exploiting things that were overlooked in the last patch, on the bright side, these get fixed pretty quick
  • Gameplay is almost never consistent, kind of good thing, kind of a bad thing, heroes get nerfed, cost of items change, and new metas are found. Just read the update notes, they'll tell you everything that's changed.
  • Community's a hit or miss, sometimes team mates are supportive and will gladly help a new player, other times they are toxic and will punish you for being a noob.
  • The UI in the current launcher (Called "Reborn") is far from great and very confusing towards everyone, so don't sweat it if you get lost.

In conclusion, this game is fun and free, get it and play it with your friends for a bonding experience.

First of all, there's no real downside to this game becasue it's free, so you're not wasting your money when you "buy" it. There's no in-game purchases, but the option to donate is available, which I would do if you enjoyed this game.

Pros:
  • If you're looking for a scary, immersive game, look no further
  • Even though story focuses on a character with chronic depression/mania it never tries to hard to be edgy or shock you (although there are jumpscares)
  • Emulates a realistic inventory, with only having 6 slots, and later on, 3 slots. This ruined the game for some people, as necessary items such as keys, fuses, light sources etc. will take up slots, for me it just added to the experience
  • The combat system is as real as it gets, the animator who designed the aiming and recoil for the firearms based his work off of real ones, as he had never fired a gun before in his life (just like the main character of this game) there is also no "ammo pool" system, if you decide to reload your weapon while there are still bullets in the magazine, you will lose those bullets, which may be hard to come by depending on your difficulty
  • Music, the music for this game is perfectly fitting and does a great job of making the player feel panicked or sad
  • Isolation, the mod team did an excellent job at making this game an experience for the player, wandering through a large city (I believe it's Stockholm, and was based on real locations within) was executed brilliantly and will make you feel lonely inside even if you are in a room full of people
  • PUZZLES, I love puzzles and the game's proved to be just the right amount of difficulty for me

Things in the middle:
  • There is no in-game map, there are stationary maps that you will encounter but it still is easy to get lost, as the areas you finish stay open (you will backtrack a bit sometimes)
  • Multiple endings, there are multiple endings, 4 to be exact, but the story seems linear enough that you may not be aware that you had a choice on one of the events that affects the ending
  • Multiple playthroughs, because of the multiple endings, you would be inclined to play through the game multiple times, don't get me wrong, I really enjoyed playing this game, but going through the story again, just to see a different outcome didnt seem worth it to me, as you would already know how to solve all of the puzzles and where the scares were
  • Level design, this game is intended to be a mod for the original Half-Life, and began production soon after the release of the original, but was delayed from releasing becasue of legal issues from valve, from my understanding it was delayed for over 5 years, maybe even 10, but much of the game is still "original format" despite being updated by the developers consistently, becasue of this some of the hitboxes for platforms and whatnot are a little bit wonky, so expect to crouchjump quite a bit.

Cons:
  • Jumpscares, if you aren't a fan of jumpscares, be warned. Personally, I love any kind of scare and I felt that the game did a good job not throwing stuff in your face constantly and not making it too obvious when it was about to happen.
  • Voice Acting, the voice acting here is shoddy at best, a lot of people may feel this is a negative and ruin their experience, it didn't bother me that much because not only was the game free, it was made by one developing team, not a multi-millionare gaming company
  • Graphics, another small negative for me, as I said before, this game is quite old, so don't be expecting ultra HD 4k graphics
  • Crashing problems, apparently lots of other users had crashing problems with this game, I didn't have any, I think its becasue I have an older computer
  • Server support, there's no official server support from valve as far as I know, getting a co-op game to work requires quite a bit of messing around in the console, Hamachi makes it a little bit easier though

Overall I give this game a 8.5/10 and would definetely reccomend you buy it if you like Platformers and/or Greek Mythology

If you want to know why, continue reading.

Compared to other platformers, Apotheon's combat system is amazing, there's an endless combination of weapons and legendary weapons (with their respective affects) to find and evetually, break after beating in someone's skull. Not to mention armor and health upgrades that can not only be found completeing the main quest but in secret stashes and lockboxes hidden off to the side. Enemies are incredibly varied, besides the fact that they all wear red, and none of them will act alike.

The only major problems I had with this game is that every single mission in this game is a "Fed-Ex" quest, you go to retrieve an item from a God, and that God or their underlings sends you off to go do some ♥♥♥♥ (the only exception being Apollo, because he's an ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥) and then you come back, fight a boss, then get the item. All the items give upgrades and you feel accomplished after getting one, but then you remember that you still have to get items from 11 more gods. You might as well carry a checklist while playing this game. The only other annoyance I had was with enemy AI, the AI for the larger enemies (Bosses, Cyclopses, Weird half-animal dudes, etc.) is great, because you can wittily outmanuevur them and shove your spear in their asses. The AI for smaller enemies isn't that great, all of the normal enemies will engage you with whatever weapons they have, and thats it. Enemies like Apollo's Guards will randomly decide to attack you with a bow, drink a potion, run away from you until potion runs out, pull out their sword, stab your toe, and then run away from you again. And obviously there's tons of these guys in one area, so killing them is more of a chore than anything else. Wolves, who only majorly appear in one part of the game, will jump attack you, run as far as the can in one direction, turn around, attack you again, and then run as far as they can in the other direction before repeating everything else. You'd honestly have more luck just running away from them rather than wasting your weapons and armor trying to kill them.

There are some pretty great parts in this game though, in Artemis' woods, some nymphs ask you to clear their home of satyrs (Olympus is overcrowded with all of the deities moving in suddenly) and you walk in to promptly find a bunch of goat-men, drunk off their asses with erect ♥♥♥♥♥ (someone actually took the time to animated a penis on these enemies) humping the air and getting absolutely ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. How do you get them to leave? Smash all the alcohol. Once you do that, they get so pissed they kill each other.

Oh, and the art style is pretty cool too.

Plot Synopsis:

You play as Nikandreos, a Greek ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ from the village of Dion, one day, Zeus decides "ayy lmao, humans are ♥♥♥♥" and orders all the other Olympians to neglect mortals. He also invites all deities living on Earth to come to Olympus, so that when all humans die off, everyone can go back to the Earth. Crops refuse to grow, animals disappear from the forest and even the sun lingers at one point in sky all day. Humans being humans, instead of trying to repent/stop the oncoming disaster, they decide that now would be a perfect time to steal everyone else's ♥♥♥♥. The game opens with Nikandreos stopping the pillaging of his village (and other things) by shanking every single motherfukcer wearing a red tunic. At this point you go to the Temple of Hera where she appears, tells you to help the mortals and then sends you off to Olympus, all the while softly caressing your ass.

You roll up on the Olympian Gates acting chill as a mofugga', and the guards who for someone reason, don't recognize you as a mortal let you in to the Agora, which acts as the overworld of the first tier of Mount Olympus.

I'd rather not spoil the rest of the game so I'll just say that Olympus is full of fly honies, and that ♥♥♥♥♥ Athena got ass for days.

In my opinion, one of the most immersive RPG Shooters of all time.

Everytime I play Fallout, I get loaded with choices to make, of course, I always pick what fits my character's personality, but sometimes (especially in the DLCs) I can't help but feel that I made a bad decision (The game will show the lasting effects of your decisions) Which is where the great part of Fallout comes in, You can just load your game and do it all over again, and when it's all been said and done, every quest completed, every chest found, there's still a whole world of community created content (mods) that add on to the game in a whole new game.
