Risk of Rain Returns is a great remaster of the original with amazing ootb compatibility for the Steam Deck! Got it as soon as it released and it lives up to my expectations. Looking forward to unlocking all my favorite survivors!

incredibly well-executed time sink

Very well executed. The "live-action" clips within the game fit incredibly well, making it a fairly immersive story experience.
Some of the fights are either too bland or too hard, but perhaps that is more of a me-problem.
The SCP-inspired lore is catching, and the (raytraced!) graphics are rather pretty.
Definitely recommend it.

The gloves are immersive to use and everything feels really natural. You do not need to press any buttons on the Index controllers to play the game. It's great.

A great modern remaster of the classic Waltz of the Wizard. The well executed Index Controller support makes it much more immersive than its predecessor, too.
Some things were moved around, but you'll find yourself in a familiar environment, with more stuff to play around with and explore.

I have yet to finish the "puzzle realm", but i can already tell from the first rooms on that it's been polished a little as well, and look forward to checking that out further.

A lot of great VR-Action with high replayability. A game like SUPERHOT fits VR perfectly, especially with the Valve Index Controller's finger/grip sensors.

Steal the knife from the enemy in front of you, use it to slice bullets flying at you, and then throw it to hit the red dude shooting at you - without pressing a traditional button on the controller. Super immersive, and a decent amount of difficulty.

I recommend a larger play space though, as you want to be able to move a few steps at least

I was looking forward to it. The trailer looks great, but the game is so bug-ridden, it's almost unplayable.
In the main menu, the cassette tape immediately fell through the player, i had to fish it out of the cassette player model by grabbing behind it and jiggling it out.
I wasn't able to do High-Five with my left hand, it just goes straight through the targets.
Balloon popping is sometimes impossible, as the balloons sometimes collide and one or more floats off into the distance.

Oh, also there's no background music or anything beyond some sound effects, which makes playing - when it does work correctly - rather bland.

There are other minor things that just lower the (re)playability so much.

All in all, it feels like a very rushed release, and definitely requires more polishing to be remotely recommendable.

Very nice locomotion features, and more of a puzzle than i initially thought it'd be.

Looking forward to the enhanced edition.

It's the true Risk of Rain experience, but in 3D! Played it for hours already and I'm so excited for the future content. It really lives up to my expectations.
