The game is actually fun and frequently on sale for a few dollars. For transparency I bought the game for about $10 AUD and at that value it is absolutely worth playing. Once you figure out how to disable the god awful aim-assist the game is actually fun - maybe a bit easy but still fun.

Saints row has always been a parody of GTA (which is a parody of American culture) and when GTA canonifies hoverbikes and flying cars you can't blame Saints Row for having a tenuous relationship with reality.

The characters and story will make you cringe harder than watching someone be rejected by their high school crush. They have admittedly grown on me a lot and become less useless and annoying as the story progresses. It's fun and people just like to whinge and if you can buy it for $10 and play 50 hours it's a lot better entertainment than lighting it on fire.

I am a long time fan of Cook Serve Delicious ever since the original which I thought was possibly the greatest innovation within the cooking game genre. I cannot find it within myself, no matter how hard I try to like Cook Serve Forever, to recommend this game.

The original required a combination of reading comprehension, typing dexterity and good time management. Managing multiple tickets at once (especially with the implementation of holding stations in later games) made you feel the stress of being behind the pass. This game requires none of this. It's a button mash em up with about 7 different orders of quick time event.

It fails so severely as a cooking game I don't even know what I am cooking 99% of the time because the only thing I am looking at is the bottom 2 inches of the screen for what buttons to mash. Every order is processed one at a time, there is no rush except to get the highest rating on levels that require it and after the order is done you can infinitely sit there and wait to serve it with no punishment.

It's not a matter of polish or story. The story is certainly interesting but I am certainly not interested in reading a graphic novel with several hours of cooking related quick time events. Not even two hours in and I am convinced that there is no point playing any more since there is a set number of preparation events and every "different" food just uses a combination of them.

If you want to play a cooking mama clone with almost no difficulty wearing the skin of the series that it has murdered this is your game.
