I'm gonna recommend this for it's excellent core game loop and exquisitely polished presentation. However, even with the relic update, the combat is not something that I enjoy. It rewards the kind of poke-and-roll combat that I find extremely tedious, and the game requires significant grind to complete. By significant, I do not mean "a lot", but I do mean "enough that it impacts your enjoyment of the game."

I'd recommend this if you're looking for a casual time-waster. I'd value it at $15.

I value this game at $10, no more. It has the polish and vapidness of a corporate-sponsored product. The combat is kinda fun, and the pixel art is excellent. The exploration and dialogue are meh. I heard it's short. Still, I probably won't finish it.

I don't see what the fuss is about. Yeah, it's hard. It's a roguelike. I'm having a blast. Gorgeous art and fun mechanics.

game is oozing with cool. surprisingly cool cinematics for a game like this. excellent writing, which is a nice bonus considering how unnecessary it really is. high level of polish in general. this ability to manipulate the battlefield via time prediction makes for some exciting spectacle. The replay features are so fun. if you come in mainly hoping for that, you will have a great time setting up some epic firefights in destructible suburban environments. If you're the kind of person that enjoys just gazing at miniatures, you'll enjoy this spectator aspect quite a bit I think.

Negatives: I've only played for a few hours, so it's tough to say for sure, but the AI seems way to easy to manipulate and exploit, which is encumbering the strategic fun. I'm starting to feel like I might end up bored because of this.

In the end I definitely feel I got my money's worth. I'm optimistic about everything I pick up, but I feel like this once could turn out quite good with some balance patches and additional content.
