UPDATE: They're just making this game worse by the day.

Before I dive into some details about the game across the board, I want to disclose that I am biased in the favor of tactical shooters such as Insurgency, Escape From Tarkov and Ground Branch, and not towards arcade-style shooters similar in style to Call of Duty. Therefore, my opinions may not be the same as those of you, the reader.

Let's start with the campaign. The campaign is at the moment the best part of the game, introducing many old, beloved characters into the reboot of the franchise along with several new characters, in an environment that nicely brings everything together. Compared to the campaign of MW2019, I would argue that the campaign of MWII has many missions that will give the player more of some of MW2019's most beloved missions, while simultaneously also giving the player a taste of new mechanics, remasters of a few classic missions, as well as some brand new mission concepts that will keep your blood pumping. All in all, I enjoyed the story, and can highly recommend it.

Special Operations, or Co-Op, was very hyped up as it was introduced during the game's development. While it has been confirmed that Co-Op is going to be expanded as time goes on through 'Raids', I will have to admit that the Co-Op content we have right now is nothing short of lackluster. As I am writing this review, the game offers three Co-Op missions, all of which can be completed in about 20 minutes at most each, while not providing all that much of a challenge. What leaves an even more sour aftertaste is the fact that you are not allowed to bring any of your own equipment or weapons into Special Operations, you are merely left with the weapons you are given at the start, and whatever weapons are left lying around on the map or dropped from enemy combatants. This feels like a significant downgrade from the Special Operations that were offered in MW2019, which already had many shortcomings, especially so when compared to how much effort was put into the campaign. Unfortunately, it seems that Infinity Ward has not really paid any attention to the part of the community that enjoys PvE/Co-Op gamemodes, but we will have to see what IW may change or introduce, as the Raids have the possibility to change this course.

The gunplay of MWII is fantastic. The guns look, sound, and feel authentic, and anyone with a knowledge or interest in firearms will appreciate the effort that Infinity Ward has put into the weapons. Many argue that the TTK (Time to Kill) has been made too fast, however, with my aforementioned bias, I find the TTK to be a perfect balance between realistic tactical shooters, and faster paced arcade shooters. A section of the weaponry and equipment that is viewed with mixed feelings is the new progression system, in which rather than unlocking all the attachments for one specific weapon by leveling up said specific weapon, you instead unlock one attachment for several weapons by progressing with a certain weapon. While this does add for an interesting dynamic of making you try out all the weapons across the board, sometimes this grind can get tedious when forced to use weapons one is not comfortable with (Yes, I am a terrible sniper, how could you tell) and other times, attachments you're trying to earn are unlocked by strange choices of weapons (such as unlocking a certain foregrip for rifles by leveling up a pistol).

To contrast the amazing gunplay of this game, comes the map design. The maps of MWII, contrary to the weapons, are nothing short of atrocious. MW2019 had several original maps at launch, with maps that would later be implemented into the map of Verdansk in Warzone, as well as a few remakes of maps from older games in the franchise for the players with nostalgia-tinted glasses. MWII completely flips this on its head, with all but a handful of maps being ripped directly from the map of Al Mazrah, to be featured in Warzone 2.0. This leaves many maps, primarily the larger ones featured in the Ground War and Invasion gamemodes with empty spaces, extremely wide open lanes, and each team's spawns being placed in the middle of areas akin to a no-man's-land, making spawntrapping incredibly difficult to recover from, leaving these maps to be a sniper's wet dream. One of the exceptions to the maps being pulled from Warzone 2.0 is the dreaded Santa Seña Border Crossing map, which has gained notoriety for its horrendously unintuitive design, being akin to a lane filled with volatile explosives sandwiched between two lanes completely devoid of cover and objects. In addition to this, the spawn system appears to be just as unpredictable and annoying as it were in MW2019, occasionally spawning you in direct line of sight to an enemy combatant, or placing you out in the middle of an empty field, leaving you to be an easy picking for the plethora of snipers that inhabit these maps.

Right now, it is also important to note that PC players specifically are NOT allowed to disable Crossplay, which is enabled by default for all platforms, whereas console players are able to disable Crossplay freely. This is a problem, as Infinity Ward seem to have been incredibly generous when programming the aim assist for controllers, providing console players with impeccable accuracy that can even ignore smokescreens, giving PC players a lot of unfair fights.

While I do believe that Modern Warfare II has a lot of potential to be an excellent game, right now the game is in a shabby state, with an unnerving amount of performance and crashing issues, as well as IW having to take drastic measures in regards to features not working as intended (such as removing weapon tuning from the Gunsmith system until further notice due to it causing crashes), something which I believe could have been alleviated had IW chosen not to withhold so many features from the playtesters during the Beta stages of the game. I would suggest waiting for this game to either go on sale, or for it to improve across the board enough for it to pull itself up from mixed reviews to positive reviews before buying it. As of right now, I would argue that this game is not worth the hefty price tag it currently has, but hopefully we will see what the future has in store for Modern Warfare II.

So, here we have the half-new and somewhat misunderstood FPS contender, Warface. Originally created by the same studio behind the Crysis franchise, it'd be a mistake to say that this game is not visually pleasing.

Now, I don't have a thousand hours in it, I'm not a professional reviewer, and I sure as hell have a lot to learn while playing this game, but hear me out. A lot of people have started going against Warface, partially because a lot of things ingame are bought for real-life cash, so some people consider this a very Pay-to-win game. In addition to this, people have started going against this game because of its recent transfer from Crytek to my.com, which has caused some serious migration issues with profiles.

But if we're going to look past that and look at what this game has to offer in its current state, let me run down a few things for you:
* Warface has an interesting and refreshing system for cycling missions in Co-op: Every single day brings up new missions of different difficulties for you to play, whether it is with a group of your friends or in a random game with other players.
* This game features many mechanics that should actually be standard within all FPS games, but somehow aren't. What I'm saying is features such as the Double-climb action, which allows you and a teammate to climb up walls that you normally can't, allowing you to reach new vantage points that can really turn a game around!
* Teamwork is important. Although at first glance, Warface has a really fast pace and an arcade-y gameplay style, if you're unable to work as a team, you're going to fail. Each class in the game is really well-built up with features that are exactly what is needed for supporting your team, so instead of seeing a game where every single player is a Sniper, you'll see a fair mix of the different classes because all of them are an essential part of the gameplay.
* Is it really Pay-to-win? Let's be fair, I personally don't think so. The starter weapons are already fairly high up on their efficiency, and the only things that are really pay-to-win are cosmetic items, such as colored/country smoke grenades and player reskins. All weapons and gear are accessible to all players through ranking up (Without too big of an emphasis on that), basic Warface currency and just plain gameplay. Many items are obtained through a Vendor system, where the more you play, the more points you collect for the Vendor to give you armor, attachments and weapons, all as you please.
* Like I said before, it would be a mistake to not say this game is visually pleasing. This game has some beautiful graphics, and it's still very well optimized, even when you're running on the higher graphic settings!

Overall, I think that Warface is a great contender for the FPS market, and it definitely deserves being checked out!
Good luck, and I'll see you all on the battlefield!

Welcome to Source Filmmaker, Valve's tool for creating promotional videos and posters for their games such as Team Fortress 2, Left 4 Dead 1 and 2, and Counter Strike: Global Offensive. As Bay Raitt tells us in the Store video, SFM is a filmmaking tool that allows you to create and edit videos and posters inside of the 3D world of the Source Engine.

Now, when you first start up the program, it might all look like a mess to you, and I would personally agree with you, it does. This is a filmmaking program, not a normal video game, keep that in mind. Once you get into it however, it's actually fairly simple to use, and it all comes down to what exactly you want to make. It's obviously going to be harder to make a full-scale animation in comparison to a simple character poster, and it's all on how much time and effort you're willing to put into your project. There are many tutorials on the internet showing how to use all of SFM's features, but it's not too difficult to learn the basics of this program yourself.

With Source Filmmaker, you can essentially take the materials of the wide array of Source Engine video games, and tell your own stories using them, which to some might be even more appealing than playing an actual video game.

To conclude this review, Valve's Source Filmmaker might appear as a garbled mess when you first look at it, but once you get into it, it opens up many new doors to video game storytelling, and may even help you if you're creating your own Source Engine video game! I highly recommend you try it, and start with the basics, like making a simple picture with a posed character, before you get into the advanced sections of animation.
Good luck!

This is one of the absolutely best games that I have ever played, if not THE best game! With over 2000 hours in the game over the last three years, I have watched the community and the workshop support skyrocket, making this game one of the most moddable games in existance!

* The game features the freedom to do nearly everything your mind can come up with!
* The game has an extremely wide workshop support and an equally cancerous community.
* The game runs on an old but very good engine, providing you with great physics and more!
* GMod allows you to create scenes and also allows you to use models and stuff from other Source Engine games! Want to make a Team Fortress 2 scene or something similar? Garry's Mod is your best buy!
* The workshop allows you to download nearly anything your heart desires, from props and models to Scripted Entities and weapons!
* Servers in the game have multitudes of themes, from basic sandbox to some extremely advanced roleplay to arcade-style games!

If you're looking for a sandbox game with great physics and extreme support, then this masterpiece of a game is what you should go for!
When you think about it, giving players the freedom to do anything is sometimes a nice alternative to being stuck on a storyline or repetitive multiplayer.

This is by far one of the best First-Person Shooters I have ever played! My preference of an FPS game is where there is a lot of variety, for example in gamemodes. This game takes the fast pace of games such as Battlefield and Call of Duty, and slaps it together with the sheer tactics of ArmA and Project Reality, and I love it!

Pros:
+ The gameplay quality is so high up, it made god look short.
+ Massive amount of teamwork, something that you rarely see in other games.
+ Large variety of gamemodes, from the defense-assault fronts of Skirmish to the head-on quality of Firefight.
+ A difference but also a similarity between weapons, not a single one should be under-estimated.
+ In many other games you need to kill a huge bunch of enemies to actually be proud, in Insurgency, every kill you get fills you with determination to continue fighting. (I actually did not mean to throw an Undertale reference in there...)
+ Hacking in the game is actually at a very low percentage.
+ You can get any peice of equipment in the game from the start, no need to level up or anything.
+ REALISM, NEED I SAY MORE?!

Cons:
- Doesen't seem to affect me really, but it has some beefy graphics making it not really suited for laptops and toasters.
- There are players that do abuse the rocket launchers and grenade launchers, but they are few and far apart.

Neutral:

* You will die a lot. But trust me, in the long run, it is worth it.
* It might take a while to get the hang of the gameplay, specially considering that Insurgency has several gameplay aspects that aren't often seen in other games (Such as the Supply Point system and the Weight system.)

Remember, buy this game. It's not just any First Person Shooter. It's an FPS with even more perfection.
