I don't know if anyone else has said this about this game publicly but Police Stories is essentially "Hotline Miami but as Cops". It's difficult but that's the beauty of this game because you gotta have a strategy, you gotta know how to enter the room without being riddled with bullets. I prefer co-op because I'm not a fan of having to control your AI teammate (nothing wrong with the game it's just my preference).

Anyways, definitely pick this up.

I've been waiting for this game to come out for a long while, so far I've put in 3 hours and I have to report that this game is good, but also bad at times. The graphics are phenomenal, it's like a comic book, and it doesn't require a heavy set-up to run. Overall nothing much to say no that. The game-play is fine, it's basically a survival game with RPG elements, imagine something like 7 Days and putting in some Diablo.

The story is essentially you have prevent Ragnarok which is the end of the world, which means you must fight Jotunns, and other types of characters and protect the Seed of Yggdrasil because if it gets destroyed it basically causes the end of time. Unfortunately, it IS actually a lot harder than that. This game is made with the intent of playing through it with players, and not so much by yourself, also the scaling is ridiculous. The game expects you to balance between using souls you collect and manage them, and to upgrade a crafting station it requires a TON of souls. There's not a lot to go around because there's not enough time during the day, the nights are also short as well, so pretty much you have to craft your defenses, craft your weapons, and upgrade your people all before the night starts. It wouldn't be so much if not for the fact that the days are really short.

The microtransactions are a major gripe for many reviewers, but the microtransactions aren't THAT bad as they're 3 dollar cosmetics you can easily ignore and don't affect the game.

Now about combat...

... I love the combat. I love how powerful you feel when you're fighting minions, and the intensity when you're fighting Jotunns and you're avoiding the attack. I remember fighting 2 creatures and using a slam ability with my hammer and one-shotting them all and cutting down a tree nearby.


In conclusion, based on the great graphics/animations, the 20$ price tag, weird scaling, fun combat, and interesting story I'd honestly give it a 75% out of 100%.


tl;dr: It look good, combat good, shop isnt all bad, super hard for one player, better with friends.

I've slept on games like this for so long until I played Dungeons & Dragons during my free time. I absolutely refused to play turn-based games because I was more into free-roaming, action packed fighting games. When I got into Divinity I realized how much I've been missing out, I purchased this during a sale and explored the world and even its features that allowed me to immerse myself into this realm.

The music is absolutely beautiful, the graphics are great even if you don't have the absolute best computer like the flames look beautiful upon hearing the screams of your victims that try to betray you. I love how co-op can be done whether they started the game with you or not, my favorite part actually is the fact that if they don't have a character, then they can just controller one of the AI teammates you have. I also like how you can use the maps, elements, and the backgrounds they have to start up your own D&D campaigns.

Overall this game is amazing! I'd recommend it to anyone who is familiar with the genre, or just want to step into a different type of game.

I like it! Graphics are nice, gameplay is sweet. Commumity wise? There are some really nice people, and then there are some super salty players out there.

Can't even play it. I have to use the account that I made to play it, but still says i'm using the wrong account to play it...? I'm using the account, but I still get the same error. Which is really frustrating.
