It's very faithful to the source material for those who care, but for those who are not familiar, expect a BIT of quirky jank, but not to the point where it's not enjoyable. On the contrary, the jank adds to the enjoyment.

I can't believe we got a remaster of one of my favorite video games of all time, and one of the most important titles from my formative years.

Game runs like literal stinky booty.
I kind of can't believe how slow the updates have been considering how much cash they're raking in with it.. Original ARK was so good, hate to see them massacre it like this.. but I'm hopeful to change this to a recommend in a few years.

I really enjoyed the game for about a year, but it's very clear that the developers do not consider the player base when making/implementing MASSIVE balance/gameplay changes.

The lead developer, sdf, appears to have his vision for what he wants the game to be, which I can respect, but the way it manifests is constant flip-flopping, making massive changes from patch to patch, only to undo said changes the following patch.

The game is VERY unbalanced, and based on the developers communications in the community Discord, I don't think we're going to see it come back.

Sad to say, lads, that I think Dark and Darker is dead. I cannot recommend it to basically anyone at this point.

They really took a board game, made it F2P online, and then charge you if you want to play more than one game every TWELVE HOURS

As a content creator I have to say that I am very optimistic of the future of this game and the entertainment and memories that many many map nerds like myself can look forward to.

Thank you for listening to what we, your fans, ask of you and making a game that stands on its own on release as what I would consider the best on-release PDX game in recent memory.

Great game with a ton of replayability!
Mods extend the life as well, and the game is very welcoming to mods.

This is truly one of my favorite games of all time. Hours and hours and hours of gameplay, and when you beat it.. you start over and do it again, only with a different loadout! 10/10
