Haunting and beautiful. Not a standard Half Life 2 mod, this is a world first and a shooty playground second. In any location, you can stop and appreciate a fully realized place. Not to say the combat is bad, it`s perfectly functional, but there is less of a continual flow like HL2 with story, gameplay, and environment all at once; instead G-String feels like a world that exists independently of you, and so combat and exploration are clearly divided.

Full disclosure, it is essentially made by one person and there is some difficulties that come with that. It is often hard to hear dialogue (i had closed captions on the whole time), and there are occasional texture issues (work is ongoing and most of the time a restart solves it). Mindless progress is often made difficult by the immaculately decorated rooms and the story requires a lot of attention, and even though i loved it I`m not 100% sure of all the details .

But it is fully worth all its flaws to have an experience that is so lovingly crafted, so immersive and haunting. This is a work of art.

Garbage buggy game but good for a laugh. Clearly had some effort put into it but not good.

Short version: Beautiful beginning, forgettable boring middle, charming end. 5.5/10, play the free demo instead and stop there.

Fair warning: I thought this was more of an art game and less of a creepypasta type game. While much of this review is criticism and my vision for a better, different game, I would still not recommend the game on the merits of a typical creepy game.

I wish I could recommend Buddy Sim but the game works against itself and a series of narrative and gameplay choices the developers made force me to tamper most praise I have with significant criticism.

It is SO LIT
logic puzzles & sokobanlike gameplay work very well together

massive difficulty curve definitely makes me feel as though i'll never suck the marrow and finish the whole game, but the first few levels are accessible from anyone from elementary school up to ur mom.

The simplicity and beauty of the visuals and mechanics are obtusely intuitive and yet constantly surprising. For a game so logical and unforgiving it has a strong irrefutable humanity, a humor that is not at the expense of you nor the game but somehow compliments its utterly straightforward seriousness. What a refreshing mind puzzler.

Baba Is You is the game i loved to have played, to be shown, to fall in love with - everyone is better off for this having been made. There is nothing clever to say. Go play the game. Just the Baba in the You bro
