well... that's that. just shy of 100 hours and i finally 100%'ed the game.

fun (and quick!!!) roguelike action
art style for the game is gorgeous!
runs can feel very same-y after a while

i think i've been playing dead estate since it came out and i've always really enjoyed the game. i remember fervently hopping on after every update to get my 100% completion back and to see what they changed. (i was pissed when the update adding chunks coins dropped because it didn't count previous wins... but i also heavily cheesed the game multiple times when the bank exploit was still in the game... so i can't complain too much haha)

i think the game has heavily improved since its release and i'm glad i waited so long to write a review.

honestly though, the final update (and assignment anya) slowly burned me out, and i have been slowly chipping away at the final achievements since its release. a few small gripes here and there mostly regarding the small pool of items and a highly useless pool of secondary weapons... the axon view is cool it also causes a few issues with shots rendering weird. (also don't get me started on how maxing out your explosions can cause the game to become unplayable due to screenshake...)

however, the game is just plain good fun. it's one of those roguelikes where it's very easy to become busted which leads to runs snowballing and really crazy builds. the character selection is super varied and the character-specific curses help to create even more distinction between them. the art style is super charming (i'm a sucker for pixel art) and i really love the cutscenes! due to its nature as a roguelike it's not going to be very story-driven but it seems like a really cute universe and i really enjoyed my time with the game. i'd highly recommend it.
