let this sit in my library a while ago because it was free. but when scrolling through free games recently i found more of their games, especially one i think was called Cats. it was a steam marketplace scam. in fact, many of these games have these stupid purchasables akin to nfts. these games are shovelware, not made with passion at all. it's free, but you might as well play other hidden object games where the devs actually put their heart into them.

Decided to leave an actual review. I've been drawing on this program, on both free and SE, for 5 years now. It's a good program, not too complicated yet has enough features for someone with a pretty simple artstyle and workflow. Now that I think about it, if I were still a Windows user (totally subtle foreshadowing), I'd honestly still pay for this - it's a fairly priced one-time payment for a more frequently updated version of FireAlpaca with a couple extra features. If it's compatible with your OS and you already love FireAlpaca, I'd actually recommend it to support the devs.

Why the negative review? It's Windows-only. I've moved to Linux months before support for Windows 10 has ended, and I was distraught to see that the SE version doesn't work on it. It wasn't the worst thing in the world, I could just use the free version, but lately it's got me thinking - I paid to be able to use this forever, and now it's just going to rot in my steam library because I'm on a low-end laptop that can't even handle Windows 11.

The developers seem to comment that less than 1% of Firealpaca users are on Linux so there's no reason to make the program compatible for it. Still, it's quite a slap in the face for us who regularly used this program and simply cannot stay on Windows due to its demanding requirements. That, and it's also weird considering Steam, the only platform SE is sold on, is one of the biggest contributors to the Linux operating system. To be fair, I don't really know how difficult it is to make Linux compatibility happen, but it's still quite a shame.

As much as I really want to move to a FOSS software like Krita (which I recommend checking out if it's more your thing), it's really hard for me to actually make the move. Which is why I'm writing this review in the first place, just hoping I can have my pen pressure in this software back haha.
