Absolutely amazing as both an incremental game and a bullet hell. The main game took me about 4 hours, and was an absolute blast. After you beat that, the roguelite mode is a phenomenal addition with a new legitimate challenge and learning curve, and a bunch of new interesting ways to play. Heavily recommend!

I'm a big fan of incremental games, and have been playing them and adjacent genres for years, so I feel pretty confident when I say that this one is just okay. Its 3 bucks. About 3 hours of gameplay. Sure fine, whatever. You get what you pay for. 6/10, whatever. Read more if you care.

The base gameplay loop isn't horrible, I suppose, but its a bit tedious. The first time you see a legendary stage or a legendary loot box reward you pog a bit, but after a very short time you realize that those rare events are a lot more common than they seem, and the benefits are good, but not good enough to make them worthy of the shiny colors they get. At the end of the day you are breaking rocks in space, what it says on the tin.

A lot of systems feel really underdeveloped, either in UI or just general principle. The base loop is break rocks and use them for a plinko game to get money, and you upgrade the rocks and the plinko to get more money. Sounds fun, but when you're actually out mining the rocks, there's no real... anything to it. You just kinda move your guy close to the rock and you break it eventually and you pick up the stuff. There is urgency from your fuel supply being extremely limited early on, meaning you need to get upgrades to mine enough rocks to get enough money to get more upgrades to mine more rocks ad infinitum. Typical incremental game stuff. But everything feels a bit disconnected from one another. You can find keys to loot boxes to upgrade your plinko, which is fun for about the first 30 minutes or so, but quickly becomes a slog just like everything else.

My biggest gripe is with the upgrades. They're boring, simply put. There's a really interesting system that you eventually unlock where you can get temporary new weapons that are really strong, but given how little opposition the rocks pose in the first place they're more of a quick explosion of color than an actual gameplay benefit. About a fifth of the upgrades in your skill tree are for upgrading these specific powerups, which would be fine if they actually felt needed. They do spice up the game a bit, but it feels pointless to have so many upgrade slots dedicated to upgrading the damage of a drill that's annoying to use.

There were a lot of little tiny things which just felt unintuitive to me. The menus and UI were clunky and awkward to navigate. The plinko becomes incomprehensible very quickly, just becoming a big light show, but not in a fun way like games such as Vampire Survivors do, where there's enough of a base challenge that you feel like you've earned all the pretty lights and sounds.

The prestige system is just kinda bad. A lot of other reviews mention only prestige-ing once, which I did as well. I went back afterwards to check the prestige upgrade tree, and there were a few useful things, but there's only like 12 upgrades total in there, and none of them are worth the time and effort, and like 4 upgrades deep you don't even lose any progress making it more of an annoying side-upgrade system than an actual prestige.

I finished the game not because I was really having fun, but because I felt like I was close enough to being done and didn't want to miss out on a cool finale. There is none. No cool boss fight to use all of your cool power ups on. No big rock to send things off. Eventually you kill everything so quickly that there aren't even rocks to break on screen unless you intentionally avoid attacking for a bit. Everything just sort of ends with a wet thud.

I got it for a buck 59, who cares. 6/10. Maybe just play until you beat the second boss.

Its fine! If you like bullet hells I'd rec it, but otherwise probably not enough game here to be worth the money. Half the puzzles are gibberish tho, use a guide.

Review after beating, but not 100%ing:

One of the best games I've ever played. Genuinely immaculate. I was grinning from ear to ear literally the entire time. The final boss is one of the best boss fights I've ever played.

This game is literally crack to my autism brain. I put 46 hours into just one of the demos, and the full release has like 10 times the content? Hell yeah?

This is genuinely the worst game I've ever played that wasn't shovelware. It crashes every time you change a setting or die, and the regular game also ♥♥♥♥♥♥ blows dude. The story sucks and is borderline incomprehensible while shielding itself from potential criticism by pretending to be deep. David Cage is the Zach Snyder of video game directors, all style, fake substance. Also the game is just really poorly designed and looks like ♥♥♥♥. Wow!
