All it should do is allow games to register on the legacy client AFTER being verified on the new client (which requires a transfer). Not even multiplayer matchmaking should work. No Friends, no store, no Community, no Workshop, no customer support, etc.
What you ask for isn't a recreation of an entire client. Those elitists are seriously blind here. Shame stupidity prevails because they're vast in numbers.
I just want to play games based on its actual minimum requirements. Some Steam games have false minimum requirements. For instance, Steam requires SSE2, yet Half-Life doesn't. But how do you play the latest version of Half-Life? Through Steam... Well thank you for trying, as I'm in the same boat.
