Maybe it's because I'm not a legacy player, but I find the fighting experience in Tekken 8 to be pretty good despite some of its balancing issues. I'm probably not at the level to appreciate the subtle nuances of old Tekken; that said, it still feels like there's an incredible amount of depth to this game compared to traditional 2D fighters.

Social deduction in tyranny as opposed to democracy. As the Slacker within the office, you have roles—to sabotage the business, and make sure that the manager does not find out. Literally no one else's opinion matters. You just need to fool the one guy. This premise alone makes Dale & Dawson Stationery Supplies stand out among (us) the crowd.

What makes this game truly wonderful is its versatility. Most actions are readily available without the need for a choreographed task. Everyone can access anyone's device to perform any action immediately available (minus a few sabotages that could empower griefing). With good discipline and attention to detail, a Slacker can be entirely invisible to the naked eye. With charm, a Slacker can puppeteer the entire operation without a single soul raising an eyebrow. With ignorance, a simple office worker can become the next suspect of being fired by the manager.

Poetry aside, I'm being pretty serious—I've done stuff like hiding papers in shelves, only to take those papers back out from the shelf just to pretend I had to get a specific document from Legal 5 scanned. I don't think there are any serious mechanical balances that will become a meta.

There are a lot of confounding factors as to why a mandatory PSN account is harmful to this game's ecosystem. For those who do not live in Sony's supported regions, this game is straight up inaccessible, with a small few people that I know who claim that the game has disappeared from their libraries; for those who do live in the supported regions, Sony not only has a track record of multiple data breaches throughout the past decade, but in some countries like the UK and Ireland, their account creation system also requires players to send proof of a Government-Issued ID—this alone sets PlayStation as a bigger risk for the affected individuals.

For most people who are reading this review, this probably doesn't matter, since HD2 is being actively removed from the stores of unsupported regions. That said, I cannot in good conscience recommend this game due to these unnecessary restrictions placed by the publisher.

Think about the original Deus Ex, but as a detective game taking place on a procedurally-generated map. It has atmosphere.

Now, whether you'll like the game or not depends highly on whether you like investigation games or not. If you do, you'd probably find a refreshing, but buggy, detective experience that takes investigation more seriously than most. If not, you'd find it difficult to justify a plethora of things—from messy NPC behaviors, to insufficient information leading to dead cases, to some pretty bad memory leaks and optimization issues.

It's honestly impressive that this game is made by like... what, 3–4 people? It's good, and it definitely has the potential to be great if the developers continue to dedicate some time to polish things.

Very good game packed with content, an incredibly satisfying core-mechanic, and an extremely compelling story. It's been a while since I've played a game where I sat down for 14 hours straight. Even when I'm not actively pursuing the main story, side missions and traversal throughout New York were still incredibly fun to play with.

Do expect this game, however, to be on the easier side of things, even at the highest difficulty (including the unlocked Ultimate difficulty). While players can be overwhelmed by mobs, the NPCs in this game have pretty much non-existent AI—enemies that do not carry weapons will still try to punch you even when you're comboing in midair, and all enemies (including bosses) cycle between 2 to 3 moves that aren't that difficult to avoid. If you use your webshooters frequently, bosses will pretty much be stunned during most of your fights. Not to mention, the game also grants you a generous healing ability that uses your focus meter, which builds up as you fight.

Unironically got my hands sweating. These guys just gotta implement better matchmaking and this would be a viable competitive game.

While I understand the huge criticisms behind KT's business practices regarding the franchise post-DoA5, DoA6 is surprisingly accessible. Think about it this way: the base game is free with 4 characters, and all of the other characters are free to try with their frame data and combo trials available in-game. This means that you can focus solely on investing in your main. At this day and age where online fighting game communities are becoming ever-so prevalent, the average player needs to invest approximately 5 bucks to get started; if you feel like maining one of the core fighters, you're technically a f2p player. Aside from the season pass costumes, DoA6 has a fair variety in its customization options, with characters like Kasumi having up to 18 in-game non-DLC costumes as well as additional hairstyles and accessories to mix and match with.

That said, the game itself is pretty good--character attacks feel like they have a bit more weight compared to most of the other games out there (even Tekken to some extent due to how they handle knockback, sound design, and distracting block/hit effects).

lol who plays a fighting game for the story anyway

Hellish Quart is a fighting game that focuses heavily on the concept of the neutral game--while the system does contain a few combos, the combos are rarely needed as all it takes is around one or two hits to end your opponent's life. As a result, when you lose, most of the time the reason for your loss is simply because you were outplayed rather than the fault of some broken character.

Unlike For Honor, one of the other very few sword-fighting games in the market, Hellish Quart puts a lot of detail into proper swordplay. Swings are weighted, relentless, and quick. Characters have different stances of defense, which also give opportunity to stance-specific quick stabs alongside their standard slashing move sets. Various swings are not only used to counter and punish whiffs, but are also critical to parrying, as physics come into play for weapon displacement. To a lesser extent, the game also features a few hand-to-hand combat moves, allowing players to punish blade attacks if one were to come a little too close--these options range from instant-kill grabs to parries that open the opponent up to a critical strike, further giving more opportunities for expression. Upon block, characters do recoil, but not to an exaggerated extent, which makes it much closer to realistic sword fights.

If you enjoy fighting games, this game is a great way to relax and strengthen your general neutral game. If you enjoy sword-fighting games, this is probably one of the best games you could get, even in its current state.

There isn't a proper implementation for multiplayer just yet; so far, you can only play with others via Steam Remote Play or Parsec. This game is fairly generous when it comes to frame data, but it can definitely be an issue with depending on the host. This also means that there currently isn't an in-game matchmaking option, so all of you shy ones out there have to develop some social skills lol (or use Parsec mm).

Don't get this game unless you're a super die-hard skater; even then, you need to spend the extra effort to modify the game yourself for the best experience. For its price, you're just here to buying a unique skateboarding mechanic followed by about 8 maps and a handful of tutorials and trick objectives.

I get that people are saying that the fully modified experience is amazing, and I agree, but in the end the game is just going to be held together with tape and spit. People who make certain mods eventually leave; the game gets updated, and some of those mods will end up being incompatible. Hell, the game doesn't even have multiplayer by default--that alone is a mod as well.

I think that there's some serious potential in this title, and I'll continue to play it once in a while, but with devs depending so much on the community and the game's price point set at 40 dollars, I can't really recommend this without some kind of discount.

One of the best arena fighters out there. If you're into fighting games and enjoy challenging people in neutral, this is a game for you--almost every attack you perform does an incredible amount of damage; rounds can end in as few as 5 hits.

While the game itself is enjoyable, this game also has one of the worst communities out there. Players will complain regardless if you win, lose, do something, or even do nothing. Many will disconnect simply because you're playing a character they do not like or if you land the same move twice. I strongly recommend playing this game with All Chat turned off.
