Great that they finally released this pack for new players! Highly recommend just for the omnimover alone! That being said, finally releasing it is great as the omnimover was a highly requested ride back during the PC1 days so new players having access if perfect, but locking it for a whole year were it was unknown if it would ever come out separately was really disappointing to see for such a highly requested ride. A different ride that wasnt as requested would have been better for the pre-order bonus and put the omnimover in the vintage pack if it must be paywalled. But since it is available now, it doesn't matter as much now.

However, the downside with this releasing is that pre order players no longer have anything exclusive. In PC1, there were many exclusive pre order and early bird perks that were never released later such as King Coaster Deluxe (A golden version of the king coaster mascot), VIP guests, VIP groups, etc. Something small would have been ideal for something permanently locked to pre orders if this park was to be released later.

TLDR:
Pros: Great pack, get it for the omnimover, glad to see it available for everyone now.
Cons: Leaves pre order players left with nothing exclusive anymore where something small would have been ideal.

Where do I begin with this one?

Path system can easily be broken very quickly and actively fights you. Honestly makes you appreciate the system we had in Planet Coaster as while not perfect, this game proves that it could have been FAR worst.

There's only 3 available rollercoasters that can be built from the menu while the coaster builder is an example of what not to do and that's to copy the RCTW builder with some minor improvements but also lacking in many other areas. Speaking of coasters, if you experience motion sickness or have epilepsy, please DO NOT go into the ride camera on coasters as they stutter and snap around when crossing track segments and will even teleport after exiting elements such as jump ramps or elevators. Elevators is the worst example of how badly the camera will stutter and shake violently.

The flat ride selection is pretty decent but with limited customization. You can edit the colours to a good extent but there's certain elements on them that can't be modified. If you didn't like the themed rides in Planet Coaster you will not like the flat rides here as they are exactly that with nothing beyond the carousal for being generic. And even if you find something close to being generic, there's colours on them that can't be changed like the support beams of the giant frisbee.

I didn't get around to the management side of the game too much nor the guest interaction before I requested a refund after seeing how awful the coaster builder was. So there's nothing I can really comment on there other than the guests snapping to 45 degree angles for their rotation on the paths.

Visually this game looks fantastic and has some pretty good music involved too, the mechanics and overall gameplay falls flat as a park simulation game where if you're a long time fan of RCT or Planet Coaster, this game should be avoided. Fans of Thrillville may find the game attractive with bringing back the WHOA elements like shooting a train out of a cannon, but for players aiming for realism will have a hard time enjoying the game.

This game is a hard no from me. I have no plans to revisit this game until it addresses the issues on the coaster builder, paths, guest movement AND the coaster camera.

Where to begin...?

Well to start, this pack has some great variety of building objects to choose from. You have 4 new wall sets (2 being set textures with the other 2 being a flexi-colour variant), a few signs and some temple ruin pieces. The part I feel like this pack is lacking in would be in the number of foliage objects, lights, special effects and animals. The the lights, you only get 3 new objects. For special effects, you get a set of murky waterfall pieces. Personally I feel like this would have been a nice pack to add in some fire for the temples or some rubble effects. As for animals, there's only 5 new animals (4 for habitats and 1 for exhibits).

In the end, this pack is great for those interested in the building aspect of the game with items related to temples and bamboo. For example, I love building ancient ruins so this pack is certainly something I have an interest in. However, if you're more interested in the animals or management and could care less about the new building objects, I'd say give it a pass if spending $11.49CAD ($9.99USD) feels a bit much for only 5 animals.

ORIGINAL REVIEW:

Tech Corp is one fun management game where you build up your tech corporation from nearly nothing. It's a very fun and entertaining game but it can be very tedious at the start as you feel like you really need to micro manage a lot while also learning new game mechanics that can sometimes be explained with very little detail. As you progress however, you can purchase staff and machines that can help automate specific tasks. By this time, you will also have gone through some trial and error to learn the new mechanics that can sometimes be surprisingly far more simple compared to how they may first appear.

One thing I did find surprising was how much customisation you have over both your office and products. You can change the colour and lighting of the office. For the products you can once again, pick the colour but also adjust the hardware and software modules which will also effect the stats of the product.

Now do I recommend this game?
Yes, but only if this is your type of game genre. This is because the game can have moments of decent wait times, and heavy management.

I did however encounter a few bugs in my first play through but it was expected since as of writing this review, the game is in early access and it's the day of launch. The developers however appear to be on top of bug hunting and sending out patches... especially prior to the steam release.

UPDATED REVIEW:

SHORT:

7.5/10 - Great management, just needs a little more creativity and some guest management

LONG:

After Playing this game for around 9 hours or more, I would still recommend it.

Now allow me to explain further about the game:

You start off the game building on 1 of 6 islands. 5 of these islands are related to your career mode with the 6th island being your sandbox mode.
In career mode, you are contracted to 3 divisions (Science, Entertainment, and Security). These divisions wants you to complete their contracts in exchange for bonus cash and reputation. The downside about completeing a contract? You lose reputation with the other 2 or sometimes 1 division.
When you fill up a single division's repution bar, you will start to receive regular bonus cash from them but at the risk of being sabotaged by the other divisions. When you are sabotaged, dinosours can break lose, obtain diseases, power outages, etc. You will have to resolve the issue to prevent the park rating from decreasing and from injury lawsuits making you bankrupt.

When in basic gameplay when not completing contracts, you are just essentially building a park. You have your guest buildings for food, gifts, and activities along with staff buildings for expeditions, research, creating dinos, ACU, and many more. Finally you have your enclosures to keep your dinos in. When building your park, you will need to keep an eye on your power facilities to ensure they are producing enough power for your park. If you are not producing enough power, whatever building is not receiving said power will not operate properly. If its an ACU or Ranger building, you will need to operate the vehicles manually (You can do it manually with power as well as an option).

When you are looking over enclosures, you will need to keep an eye on your dino's needs. If your dino is not comforturable, it will attempt to break lose and release chaos onto the park. You will also want to keep an eye on the number of dino's you have in one enclosure and what types of dinos are there too. This is because certain dinos will fight one another or try to escape to get away.

Now lets talk about the sandbox mode.

In sandbox, it's not like Planet Coaster's sandbox (in fact, you really shouldn't try to compare this to PlanCo as it's a different type of park builder.. More on management than creativity) as instead of unlocking everything in sandbox, you can only use items you have from career mode. You must also have 4 stars on the first island to unlock the mode in general (3 stars on each island unlocks the next career island but 4 on the first unlocks sandbox). Since you can only bring in items from career mode with you, you can't do any research or digging in sandbox to unlock more items, this all must be down in career mode.

Now inside of sandbox, the goal is to really build the JP/JW of your dreams without being locked down from economy. This allows you to build whatever you want in the park. Want to build a giant dino fight? Built it! Want to create the largest dino enclosure and not worry about guest's view? go ahead! Build anything you like here.

Alright, so now that I have talked about nearly everything the game has to offer and does well, I need to point out some cons here.

There is a lack of creativity in the game in terms of building types and scenery. you are locked down to the buildings you see right there in the menu, you have no power to change the colour scheme, or exterior designs.
Guest thoughts, needs, or wants are not visible and there doesn't seem to be much management for guests. All you have with guests are keeping them safe, adjusting prices on shops (thats all the prices you can adjust too, no entry fee or look out points), laying out paths for them, building transportion, and seeing a general overview of their "thoughts" of the island such as Safety, Capacity, Dino Variety, etc. No true thoughts or needs.

So in the end I would give it a 7.5/10. Knowing what Frontier has done with Planet Coaster, this game should get some post launch love with patches and updates so in time we will see if any of those cons gets turned around.
Now keep in mind that I have only gotten 4 out of the 6 islands unlocked at this time of the review so just like before, I'll update this as I finish the rest of the game.

ORIGINAL REVIEW:

So far the game is amazing!

I'm not the biggest Jurassic Park/World fan but I do enjoy the movies whenever I see them. This game however, I'm already a fan!

I spent majority of my time so far learning the mechanics and how everything works together. So far I understand most of it but there are still a few items I need to learn more about.

So the game is essentially another park builder sim but instead of creating attractions like rides and coasters, it's instead based around building a zoo filled with dinosaurs. Now I haven't gotten far into the game as I've only launched it up for about an hour but so far everything looks fantastic. You can build up the park adding shops, hotels and enclosures to modifying your dinosaurs genes and sending out teams to dig up fossils.

I'll update this review as I dive deeper into the game but so far... I would recommend this game to anyone who likes park simulators and/or the Jurassic Park/World franchise.

Honestly the best pack for the game so far!

This pack is filled with stuff ranging from almost all of the themes in the game that fits perfectly in a movie production / filming location. In previous packs along with pre-existing themes, we lacked the number of animatronics that resembled actors/people. In the studio pack, that void in the animatronics section has been filled.

We also have plenty of new scenery and building objects to choose from along with audio and video queues for your park.
These items ranging from your traditional backlot stuff like stages, scaffolding, film crew, to full on set pieces like a runaway train crashing or even vehicles being tossed around.

Now the best part about this pack are the new rides.
We have 3 new rides this time around with 2 of them being tracked rides and 1 being a flatride.

The flat ride called "Horror Heights" is one of the more interesting ones as it resembles "The Hollywood Tower of Terror" from Walt Disney World.
Now this ride is just the bare bones so you will need to build the scenery around it. (Which is great for creative players but may be a negative to casual players who just want to place things down, but thats what the workshop is for)

My only con about the Horror Heights flat ride is how limited the ability to change of the sequence is. You have 4 different sequences but all being very similar with little change. The reason why I am mentioning this is because this ride is meant to be for thrills but there is nothing "Thrilling" about the one in game as you stop at floors constantly throughout the ride instead of bouncing around. Having more options to allow the elevator to bounce around with make this even better.

The other 2 are track rides. The one is a transport themed around a backlot tour using tour buses with the other ride being a motion robotic arm. This motion robotic arm is extremely clever with concept as you can not only just change the Yaw-Roll-Pitch of the arm to look around but also move the arm inside of a domed projection. So if you wanted to make a 4D motion ride using projections, this is the ride for you!

In conclusion, if you are thinking about picking up a DLC for Planco but can't decide on which one... Go with studio as you get little hints of the other 2 DLCs in here plus it's packed with a whole bunch of interesting objects and rides to choose from.

SHORT:
I don't recommend this game in it's current state. The developers has put in little effort into creating the rides and has done little research in their functionality. If the game ever gets a MAJOR patch, I will consider it.

I do hope this game gets better as i really do want it to succeed but by this rate, it won't ever come close.

LONG DETAILED EXPLAINATION OF MY LATEST EXPERIENCE I HAD THAT SHOULD GIVE YOU AN IDEA OF WHAT ISSUES ARE AT HAND:

Yesterday I launched up the game for the first time in awhile and for the first time on my own steam account.

For this, I wanted it to be a Twitch stream showing how the game is doing since the last time I touched it and if any improvments were made.

Here is what I have found: ..... ... ... ... .. No.

So lets make a list of some of the major issues I came across here:

1. Major Stutter Problem

The first thing I noticed when I launched up this game was that there was a stutter in frames every 30-60 seconds. At first, I thought this might just be a hardware issue so I turned down the game settings in hopes for a solution but none were found. This appears to be a poor game optimization issue. I can't remember if this issue was present during my last playthrough but regardless if it was present or not, it's here now and can't be fixed without a patch. (To my knowledge).
For those wondering:
GTX 970, i7-4790, 16 Gb RAM.
Can run Planet Coaster at 60fps on max settings.

2. Crashes.... oh the infamous RCTW crashes...

While trying out the "story mode" to see what else there is in it, I came across multiple crashing errors.
- Crash on exiting the 2nd career map
- Crash on loading the 3rd career map
- Crash placing down water during the Ravine Map (can't remember the number...)

So, that hasn't been fixed and for those who keep saying that they have fixed it to people who are deciding on which game to purchase (RCTW/PC), please don't lie about it.. You know it's there and you know that the new customer WILL find it.

3. Coaster elements, oh coaster elements... where are my coaster elements

The coaster elements in this game needs a complete overhaul!!!
Most of them are not even sahped properly and I was able to make better premade elements I made by hand with very little effort. Corkscrews have a uneven curve to it, Loops are poorly shaped and are worst than the loops on the coaster Desert Storm, and the cobra roll is not even banked properly!!!
Also if you have a track slightly sloped up or down (by like 1 degree), the element you placed will be on that slope. (So sloped corkscrews).

To add to this point,
Pre-built coasters in this game are a joke!
1 arrow coaster has a loop taller than the initial drop and the devs placed boosters instead of increasing the drop or decreasing the loop. Most of the coasters have a booster on it due to poor layout designs by the dev team.

4. Career Mode is really a tutorial mode

So far in the career mode its been a tutorial with no true scenarios. Im at the point where i dont want to play any more but there is no true way to skip it so im stuck with sandbox. An ability to skip the tutorial for experienced players of the genre would be great!!!

Now lets talk about minor issues that I would consider as personal preference

1. UI when selecting guests and items should not be following the object on screen. This makes it very difficult to navigate. I know you can toggle this by clicking the pin button, but its so small and sometimes its the hardest thing in the world to hit.

2. Ligthing feels off... feels a bit too bright during the day and night...

3. Coaster builder needs some work as sometimes its difficult to create certain shapes.. even the most basic. (I feel like this is why the premade coasters are poorly made as the builder didnt function well... for example curved lifts)

4. Ride designs... i dont like the pre seleted entrance and exit positions and how some of the rides animate (for example the sling shot ride, constantly spins while its operating which is very unrealistic)

Anyways.. thats my lastest experience with this game has gone.
So now, would I recommend this game?
No.
Just go buy Planet Coaster.

BUT WAIT!!
Do I want to see RCTW succeed??
Yes, I do!

I really want this game to be good but unfortunately its just not doing it! The developers did NOT put in the effort into actually researching or developing this game. I love the RCT franchise and all games in the genre but this did not exceed my bar for the most basic tasks. Yes there are some aspects I like such as the parking lot in the distance but thats it.

If the game gets better then GREAT! Let's see what happens. As of right now, no.

So for all people reading this,
I love both Planet Coaster and the RCT franchise, so i want to see this game do well but if it wants my support, then the devs needs to pull their socks up!
I am also writing all this out so people sees the main flaws of this game and any personal prefence matches that will discourage them. I am also writing this for new readers to see the issues that are indeed present that are posted by a user who wants both games to do well instead of a bias one.

So thats all, I'll post more soon when I play the game further which will be on Twitch. Until then, proceed in this game with caution and a fair warning.

The Spooky Pack DLC is honestly one of my favourite additions to this game. The content pack comes with multiple scenery objects from building pieces to spooky animatronics, 2 new rides, and a Ghost version of King Coaster (gotta grow that King Coaster family :P )

The 2 new rides included are perfect for building dark rides which is something I personally enjoy building. One of the rides is a motion platform ride that will follow a "track" like any other ride but also rotate on a platform, roll and pitch.
The 2nd ride is your classic ghost train that has the ability to freely rotate following the same physics as the spinning coasters.

In short, if you ever get the chance to pick up this content pack, definitely ho for it especially if you're into dark rides.

Absalutely worth it for any Back To The Future fans out there along with fans of the game.

The DLC pack comes with not only a Delorean that you can build yourself but also ones already built for you with not just 1 but 4 based on all the different versions throughout the movies. There is also 2 special effects that create the time travel effect and delorean go-karts.

With the custom parts for the delorean, you can really get creative and build something unique out of them (just like anything else in this game).

Now time for me to stop writing this review and to get building on something Back To The Future related! :D
