This game was released in 2009. That's more than a decade ago. Few games can survive with a legacy more than 10 years, and still be relevant in terms of engine and graphics. AND it's only ten dollars.

Truly a game that stood the test of time, and will do so for another decade.

You find this game in the store, and think to yourself: what, this game is for nerds. You're just staring at a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ map, you can't shoot at people, and you can't build. Then, for some reason, you decided to buy the game. At the start, you don't understand a single thing, the tutorials were crap, and there's way too many buttons. You inadvertently screw up: you got rebels, balls-deep in loans and a massive coalition - simultaneously.

You want to know what went wrong. You read up on the game, and watch 6 hours of youtube videos. You start your second game. You find other things that screw you over. You curse, restart, and lick your wounds. Finally, you have a decent empire. Not a world conquest, but you're at least a great power.

And before you know it, two months had passed, you have a couple hundred hours into the game and you find yourself still learning and having fun. You think to yourself, how did I manage to have so much fun staring at a map for hours on end? The answer is, you have absolutely no ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ idea.

Truly a game that stood out in its time, and still holds up as one of the best singleplayer campaigns even till now. The outcome and many small details in the game is dependent on every decision you take in the game, infused with top-notch stealth mechanics, unique arcane powers and weapons, makes every action satisfying and fufilling.

Prepare at least 3 pairs of trousers beside you when you play the game. Would be preferable if all of them are brown in colour.

Never in my life would I have thought that I would ever learn things like prograde and retrograde, apoapsis and periapsis, orbital mechanics, delta-V, decouplers, aerodynamics, the relationship between centre of thrust, centre of lift and centre of mass.

And never in my life would I have thought I would have so much fun in doing so.

This game has a very steep learning curve, but part of the fun (and frustration) is experimenting and trying out new ideas - and failing, and then failing again. But once you reach the eventual success of designing a vessel that could complete that pesky contract, or completing your first orbit, or successfully landing on the Mun without toppling over for the seventh time, it feels like all those hours repeatedly failing (and having fun) had really been nothing.

I don't think any other game in history or would-be history would ever match up to Bioshock Infinite's storyline.

This game doesn't have a reload function, but it forces you to press R far more times than any other shoot 'em up game.

Literally one the best 2D fighter-style game around, Skullgirls is one of those games that is deceptively easy and deceptively uninteresting when you browse through the dozen or so pictures in the store page. Once you actually get the game, hah, good luck with the keyboard controls, the crazy AI, and downright insane online mode. Did I mention how crazy the AIs were?

The game however, makes it all up in more ways than one. It boasts engaging storylines though vivid hand-drawn visuals, promoting different play styles through its many characters and dozens of different combos to use, and not to mention surprisingly smooth gameplay. There is even a (overly) thorough walkthrough for beginners.

And also my friend called me gay for playing this game.

If you want your cause of death to be asphyxiation from intense giggling, this game does the job like no other.
