Bought the best wagon in the game halfway through the trail, three steps out of the settlement the wheel broke and two of my party got typhoid. 10/10.

In all seriousness, a very fun relaxing game for when you don't want to use too much brainpower. The overall mechanics and systems are fairly straightforward after your first playthrough, and you can quickly learn how to optimize your gameplay to the fullest. On one hand, it's nice because you'll quickly start making a lot of progress, but on the other hand, you'll quickly plateau in "skill" because frankly, once you realize how easy it is to get money via fishing, a lot of the difficulty goes away. Doesn't take away that it's a lot of fun, though.

I know some other reviews talk about how it's "nothing like the older games," mostly referring to either the original, or Oregon Trail 2. I honestly question whether any of those reviewers have played those two iterations at all, or even in the past 5 years. They're extremely dated, and they're very pass or fail- you either bought the optimal items and win, or you didn't, and you lose. That's it- not a lot of decision making beyond that. This modern version of the Oregon Trail gives you loads of random encounters and decisions, and every decision can have a consequence. If you bought smart, maybe you can play it safe... for a little while. If you didn't buy smart, you may have to take risks earlier in your game than normal.

I do agree with many reviewers that this is a blatant lazy mobile port that is for some reason $30. Kinda crummy that it turned out like that, but frankly, I didn't really notice until I read other reviews.

Pretty good game though, but I'd buy it on sale.

I started off downloading armor reskin mods and two weeks later I opened the game and all of the women had big knockers... 10/10.

Excellent, excellent game. One of the classics- I remember playing this as a kid on my father's work computer. Diversity of plants and zombies offer for numerous different strategies for beating the various levels, the minigames add tons of new interesting mechanics, puzzle is fun (except for vasebreaker endless), survival is a great way to see how wild you can make your plant setup, and the zen garden is the most relaxing time I've ever had while playing a video game. It's truly phenomenal.

As other reviewers have mentioned, the resolution in the steam version is kind of stupid. Either "full screen" with two giant black bars at each side, or a windowed version smaller than my iPhone 12. No way to change it AFAIK, so it's unfortunate, but I didn't find it to be a big deal after the first couple of levels.

Now, the best part: no microtransaction garbage. What happened to the rest of this series was a crime, but the OG Plants vs Zombies is the tits. Can't go wrong with buying it. This is the only game I've liked enough to get all of the achievements.

It's a great post apocalypse FPS game, it's not a great fallout game. Faction choice feels pretty limited at times and the only DLC worth getting are Far Harbor and Nuka World unless the season pass is on sale. Still a really fun game though and everyone should play through it once or twice.
