Rat with the B00f 最近的评测

I might go back and write more about this game later but I wanted to put this out there now in case anyone was interested in buying it during the summer sale. I think 20 bucks is more than fair if you're on the fence about this game. Me personally, when I bought this at FULL price I was unsure about it, but the game-play at least sounded kind of interesting. And I was pretty surprised by how invested I was.

I got really into reaching new shelters, making more efficient deliveries, getting new equipment to help with said deliveries, and challenging myself in new areas as the game went on. The multiplayer is pretty cool too, getting help from players leaving buildings and equipment behind is always a treat and doing the same for others feels good. It's got zen to it as well, the landscapes look insane, I still can't believe how good parts of this game look, and it's pretty relaxing to walk around the world. The Sci-Fi stuff too is pretty sick.

A couple of downsides: it's not very hard and most of the obstacles are just inconveniences, even on the hardest difficulty it's not that challenging. Inventory management will hardly bother you since you can just hit one button to auto arrange your stuff so that's a pretty big waste of potential. The combat is can feel pretty awkward and the stealth isn't really much fun either, but I'll cut it some slack since that's not a huge part of the game.

I love Hideo Kojima games and their stories, but this one is a bit rough around edges. Some of the cut scenes drove on for way to long and it doesn't help that some of the characters and dialogue aren't stellar. Some cut scenes where they explain huge chunks of the story are still pretty confusing, especially when they throw a ton of proper nouns for complicated concepts at you. And the pacing in general is sort of all over the place.

None of that is a really huge problem though, mostly it'll come down if you like making deliveries or not. So if you at all think you might be into this I would give a go. 20 bucks isn't a bad price, especially for how long this game is. Just be patient with a bit because learning to walk around while balancing Sam seems to be pretty jarring to a lot of people. I'd love to see more people try it though, I liked it enough to 100% it so of course I want to see more people give it a chance.
