F1 Manager 2022 has great graphics, great sounds, and it really looks and feels like a true F1 game. However, once past that first impression, it doesn't get any better. It's quickly realized the game is very shallow and has a whole slew of issue that takes away a lot of enjoyment in what could've been a great first entry.

Some of the current major issues:
DRS - DRS is incredibly overpowered, there will be huge DRS trains every race, it's easier to pass cars than getting away from them. If there's two cars within one second of each other they'll often trade position almost every DRS zone.
Tyres - Tyres are not balanced at all, there's barely any difference in pace between softs, mediums and hards, tyre deg doesn't matter at all until they're at 30% and even though drivers will complain about tyre heat, it makes no difference. Tyre strategy is non-existant because one-stopping is always best. There's also no or barely any difference between inters and full wets, except wets last longer. Unless maybe it's only light rain, it's always better to go directly between slicks and full wets because an extra pitstop for inters is just gonna lose time.
AI strategy - The AI's strategy isn't bad, it just non-existant, because it never changes. They always do the same exact predictable runs in qualifying, they always blindly follow their chosen strategy in the race, unless it rains, and they never attack, push or do anything different. Often times different teams have the same strategy so you'll have five cars from the same DRS trains pit at exactly the same time, cars will be pitting at the end of a safety car or put on new slicks two laps before rain is predicted to start.
Qualifying - Since tyre deg doesn't matter, you can pretty much run all of qualifying on the same set of softs, and lap times won't improve over the session so the only thing that matters is getting a clean run, but cars on in/out laps won't move away for a car on a hot lap, so they get ruined a lot with no penalties ever. Since the AI do their runs so predictably, you can also use this to block your rivals on their hot laps.
Penalties - Along with no penalties in qualifying, the penalties that are handed out in races are broken. If car A runs into car B which then takes out car C, car B will always get a penalty and car A only sometimes get a penalty. On one occasion I had both of my cars run into each other (no other cars involved) and both got a penalty. Another time one of my cars was about to lap a backmarker, when said backmarker ran wide and when rejoining the track collided with my car, and my car got a penalty.
Micromanaging - You need to micromanage your drivers during the race, deciding for them how to use their tyres, fuel and ERS. While this might appeal to some, it should be able to be automated because it's both unrealistic for a team principal to micromanage his drivers like that (you're not gonna see Toto instructing Lewis how to use his ERS), it would help with the AI because then they wouldn't run every race exactly the same, and it could also add extra depth to a driver's stats.
Backmarkers - Blue flags are non-existant, so you're almost always gonna lose a lot of time when lapping other cars. It's one of the only things to break open DRS trains though, so some positive I guess.
Difficulty - More of a personal opinion, but the game is way too easy. I handily won both champions my first year with Ferrari. Yes, Ferrari is one of the top teams, but I managed to get a 1-2 almost every race even though I completely stopped developing my car after a third of the season. I only got beat by Red Bull on merit the last three races.
Other minor stuff - No future dated contracts, finances require no thought, car development is shallow, drivers and staff don't develop organically (you get to skill them however you want), there's barely anything to do between races.

All in all, if you're a F1 fan you'll likely get some enjoyment at the start but then quickly be disappointed, if you're a fan of management games there's not much to actually manage. If you're more of a casual fan of either, you might be happy with this game.

My verdict is that until game is patched or much cheaper, it's not worth picking up.
