I enjoy this game quite a bit. It's not the Battlefield I wanted (was really hoping 2042 would be closer to the old 2142), but it is a fun enough shooter. I also appreciate that you can play against bots, as sometimes I don't feel like getting destroyed after work by people who have done nothing but played this game since launch. All of this aside, I cannot currently recommend the game. While it was working fine the last several weeks, recently I am unable to launch the game at all.

EA gives quite possibly one of the most useless errors I've ever seen. "An error on our end caused your launch to fail, please try again later." Ok. So I waited until the next day to play. Same error. I tried verifying files. Same error. I tried everything I could find online to remedy this, but to no avail. Hell, I uninstalled EAC, EA, and BF2042, removed EAC registry entries, restarted my computer, reinstalled 2042 fresh and STILL, the same error. I can launch other Battlefield titles (4, V, 1) with no issues. Not sure what happened, but the game has been rendered unplayable for me, even with a completely fresh install. Can't recommend a game like that.

Was scrolling through my library looking through all the games I don't play anymore when I stumbled across this one. It always made me sad to come across this game, because I really enjoyed it back in 2017/18. But then, to my surprise, I saw an update from this month. So glad to see that the dev came back to keep working on this, as it is an enjoyable little sandbox shooter game. Looking forward to seeing what gets added to this.

I'm REALLY enjoying this game. That said, it is not the perfect game by any means.

The Good:
- Game runs great and haven't experienced any crashes or bugs that I can recall.
- I am a fan of the saturated look to a fantasy setting.
- Background-based and skill-based dialogue options.
- Dual-wielding pretty much anything.
- Two loadouts that are easy to switch between.
- The parkour is fun and worthwhile (chests on roofs and such).
- Magic interacting with water (lightning, ice) is a nice touch.
- Companions actually fight, and you get skills for them.
- The dodge mechanic is fun to use in a fight.
- I'm a fan of Obsidian's writing (New Vegas will always hold a special place in my heart).
- Using potions in combat feels good, as it doesn't interrupt the combat. (other consumables, not so much)
- Combat feels good (could be crunchier).

The Bad and/or Inconvenient:
- While combat feels good, it can start to feel repetitive if you're not switching up weapons.
- It's hard to want to switch up weapons without needing to use your upgrade materials on multiple weapons.
- The world DOES feel a bit "frozen" I guess? NPCs just kind of standing about.
- Character movement feels floaty. The character just doesn't seem to have enough weight to their movement.

The Unsure:
- I've not seen much more than "common" of any sort of weapon, with the ability to upgrade it. Hopefully there are more weapons available as I get further into the game?

TL;DR:
I think the game is good. It's not the best game I've ever played, but I am enjoying it. That said, I don't think it was worth the $90 I paid to play early, as I found myself playing other games a lot over the three-day weekend, while still picking this up in short bursts. At launch price? Sure. It's a fun game, and most of my gripes could be solved with patches. Once I see what the Day 1 patch looks like and put more time in, I'll revisit this review.

Most of my hours were on Epic before it came to Steam, but I really enjoyed this game. The salty customs were SALTY. Honestly shocked that the HiRez sale is even showing this in the banner considering it's been almost a year since the last update and over a year since the last real content release. I kinda hoped I was seeing it because there was finally an update and this game might come back from the dead... Shame.

I wish the story was longer, but you get to be a cat in a cyberpunk setting. That's enough to earn it a recommendation, honestly.

This game has A LOT of potential. The gameplay itself is very enjoable. The fast-paced and less populated rounds allow the games to last for a shorter period of time, which allows the game to be played for a longer period of time before becoming "burnt out" on it. The biggest problem with this game right now is that it isn't being advertised enough, which means the actual player-base is relatively small at the moment. We need more players so we aren't playing the same 50-100 people every couple of rounds.

The only other concern I have with this game at the moment is that the developers have already released cosmetics that cost real money. I've noticed a trend in gaming lately where a development team will release an unfinished game into Early Access, do a very big cash grab, and then abandon the game. I don't believe that is going to happen here, but it is definitely a concern of mine when I see a game in Early Access that already costs $25 AND has purchaseable cosmetic items.

Let's just hope this game gets more players and the developers continue to improve it, because as of right now, it is the most enjoyable Battle Royale style game that I have played.

As you can tell by the original review, I REALLY enjoyed this game. Unfortunately, the playerbase has fallen to mininmal numbers. Over the last 24hrs, the amount of people playing this game was less than 150. If you consider the fact that the matches are meant to be 50 players, this playerbase is rather abysmal.

The developers have been releasing small patches, but the patches are taking 2-3 weeks to make minor changes. Many players, including myself, are losing faith in the development team. The most recent updates included "reduced minimum number of players for timer to start." That seems to be an update that is only necessary because of a very low amount of players currently playing the game.

In my opinion, the current state of this game is no longer worth $25. In order for the game to gain some hype, there needs to be some miraculous marketing and possibly a drop in price to a more "Early Access" price range. As of right now, I no longer feel justified in having spent $25 on this game.

I really hope the developers will listen to the players that are still around and try to fix this before it dies ENTIRELY. This game was actually REALLY enjoyable, and I'd like to see it gain it's steam again.

I honestly WANT to love this game. I enjoy the Battle Royale concept and this game has the best gunplay out of all the BRs I've tried and tested up to this point. Unfortunately, the developers who created this game have a LONG way to go when it comes to optimization, community approval and just generally making this game what it has EVERY ability to be.

There are quite a few issues plaguing this game in it's current state. The optimization needs an overhaul. Frame drops, desync, rampant exploitation of known glitches; you name it, they've got it. I have avoided writing a review on this game up to this point because they were doing better about updating the game weekly and fixing SOME of the optimization issues seen in the past. I really thought the developers were starting to get to a point where they could give the community what the community wanted. Now, however, the developers have announced that this is the second week we will see no updates.

I can't give a recommendation for this game in it's current state, and that's unfortunate. When this game DOES work, it works very, very well. The gameplay and the graphics are great and I enjoy playing the game quite a bit; however, if you aren't ready to deal with a large amount of cheating/glitching/bugging/crashing, don't buy/install this game just yet. Give it time and hope (like I have) that the developers will get their resources together and make this game GREAT.

Last thing to toss into this review: Many have already mentioned this, but it deserves repetition. Bluehole is currently charging $30 for this game. They also have multiple in-game crates/keys/cosmetic items that cost money. So you have to ask yourself, with how much money they are bringing in from this game, HOW have they not dedicated some of that to hiring a team with enough experience to FIX the bugs and FIX the cheating.

I honestly hope they make this game more playable and more enjoyable. I'd hate to see this game lose it's potential due to developers being unwilling/unable to fix well-known issues. Fingers crossed...
