Unplayable in Windows 11.
Which is a shame because this game and Gothic 2 is actually amazing. "Dark Souls" in its era.

Good game with great potential, but unfortunately have lots of flaws.
The concept is good, but after playing for 50+ hours you'll feel bored because of the constant & same grinds.

Interesting to note that this game is moddable and there's a mod page inside the game. So probably this game would flourish after a couple of years.

For now though, I'll give it 7/10

This game, is a great example of a remake done right!
everything were improved compared to the original game like the graphic, animations, UI, soundtracks and adding new contents like new mechanics & new endings overall improving the user experience but without tampering the essence of the original game. If you've played the OG game before, this remake is definitely worth to try and won't let you down.

As for the new players who never played the original game before, Pocket Mirror ~ GoldenerTraum is a gothic horror style game with a story filled with symbolism and metaphors. If you've seen the trailers, it seemed that the developer want to emphasize the horror aspect as the main selling point of the game. But honestly, the game isn't scary. It only had mild jumpscares, but fortunately though, those jumpscares were placed with excellent timings so it can get your heart racing at the right cues.

Instead, in my opinion, what makes this game fantastic is because of the characters, narrations and the way they integrate every elements in the game to bring out the atmosphere. Each of the characters in this game have very distinct personalities and very well-crafted that you can't help to adore even to the least lovable character here. The musics and narrations really helps the game fleshed out those characters while keeping you entertained with some interesting puzzles.

The esoteric story line may not be everyone's cup of tea, of course, but fortunately you can enjoy the game even without putting your head into figuring out what really happened in the story.

Overall this game is a 10/10.
Definitely one of the best remake I've ever played and it's worth every single penny. I'd like to thank the developers for remaking this great game.

It's a good start if you want to follow the Witcher's trilogy.
Although the game has been out for almost 10 years, the graphics and the gameplay isn't outdated & still great, also the bugs mostly have been squashed out too compared when I played it the first time at 2008. Overall this game is recommended and worth the money!
