It brings tears of nostalgia to my eyes to see what Obsidian have pulled off with the help of Paradox. What was thought to have been a dead genre has suddenly been injected with rejuvenating passion and vigour. A miracle of a game; a diamond in the rough that is a plethora of generic shooting games and uninspired indie shovelware.

This game is really restrictive.

I wanted to save some hostages... wait scratch that, I didn't want to save them at all. I couldn't give a ♥♥♥♥ about them. The GAME wanted me to save them, thus I NEEDED to save them to progress through the narative. That's the first issue.

Second issue? I wanted to approach the situation however I wanted. So, I made my way around the 'hostage camp' to get a better vantage point for my apathetic stealth-entry. Then it happened. "Mission failed bla bla bla too far away from mission objective." ♥♥♥♥ that. I Alt F4'd the ♥♥♥♥ out of that play session in high frustration.

So yeah. Also , poorly optimised.

tl;dr
Couldn't let hostages I don't care about die. 6/10

The dynamic Nemesis system sees the Orcs that kill you get promoted and rise to the top of the orcish heirarchy. One orc that I killed returned a few hours later with a scar across his face. Then again, with a bag over his face.

Solid story, good pacing, and some really interesting fight dynamics added in. It's confusing at parts because of the multi-dimensional stuff, but overall a really fun fighting game.
