I was more hyped for ff16 than this game after playing the demo on someone's ps5 in 2023 but once I FINALLY got to play it, it fell apart for me and I lost interest pretty quickly after the demo bit and this game has completely blown me away and I'm still so early in.

For context, I loved FF7R but don't have nostalgia for the original. So I was hyped-ish but not as much as I was for 16.

Playing this work of art took me back to William Hogarth's Gin Lane. Except, this is actually good.

Glad I waited 3 years to start playing it.

It's still very glitchy, anims are the worst offender, as well as general gameplay bugs.

Comparing 2.1 and 2.11 to day one, it appears to be a perfect, bugless game, but don't be fooled. While the current bugs aren't the worst in the world, it is still not to the standards of the AAA game it demands to be.

I was not massive into this game at the start and discounting it as a glorified ubisoft game but by the end, I started to love it. I just hope the sequel does less checklists to pad out gametime and more natural gameplay.

Furthermore it is easy to miss a lot of sidequests that are important to the story so it would be good if they were just part of the main quest as doing the main quest without them seems pointless. It's like if netflix skipped 5 episodes of breaking bad and expected you to keep track of the episodes and manually go watch what you missed out on.
