More than I bargained for.

I am pleased to have this opportunity to hold my thumb down on Randy Pitchford after Gearbox was responsible for the death of a studio I actually liked- TimeGate.

Sega really should have taken you to court.

A lightning-in-a-bottle game that will not be replicated, because much of it was accidental. Enjoy it.

I don't want to be a public-interest reviewer, however here is another company preparing to take a sharp turn for the worse. Pulling the rug out from under the community that made them, a game "sunset" has been announced (the usual sort of line, forget the old one buy the new one!) An "upgraded" version will be sold, and if rebuying the game isn't enough I hear they'll give players the opportunity to re-buy the DLC as well. There's a broken promise in there somewhere but I'm not close to this game and more prominent elements of the community will tell it in better detail. I won't even start on icebergs like who owns the company, and who gets special treatment as a result.

As a consumer, remember that you can only be abused by a company as much as you allow them to do so. You can always walk away, Further, if everuone walks away, suddenly the company has to provide you some kind of value to return, instead of coercion and schemes to extract value from you.
Make your choice. Valued customer, or hollow wallet?

This review made in solidarity with, frankly, a great community. Only to be rescinded with the removal of intrusive EAC software.
