A genuinely fantastic game. The writing is great, and the world is massive - I cannot overstate just how much there is to see, how many characters to meet, and how many endings there are to experience.

The gameplay is really fun too, with a large variety of playstyles. attack focused, mastery focused, companion focused, spell focused, etc. By the end of my main playthrough I had a greatsword full offense full speed build going. I oneshot every single enemy I came across, even the final boss. VERY fun, I can recommend.

The characters are written very well, heartbreakingly well at times. This game is no stranger to topics which may disgust you. Be aware of this.

ONLY COMPLAINT: why is the game so SMALL!!! I'm PUNISHED for getting a huge monitor 50% off on a shop closing sale, the misery!

Living With Sister: Monochrome Fantasy, is the perfect game for the lolicon that also believes women are fundamentally not real people. You play as the most generic, uninteresting man ever, and the other characters feel much more like empty canvases as opposed to real people. You get virtually no opportunities to actually get to know the cast; any dialogue chosen simply becomes "You talked with her for a bit.", instead of providing even the slightest bit of characterization.

The game isn't necessarily bad, but it's really chronically boring and struggles to offer you any interesting gameplay. I was playing on normal difficulty, and I can see from other reviews that hard difficulty is recommended. But I cannot imagine it changing the game to such a degree that it would make any of the totally vapid dialogue and character interactions suddenly meaningful.

The art is very good, and if you have noncon/abuse fetishes, this game can be a great playground. But I have no other compliments than that.

This is NOT an indigment of the themes in the game. I'm a huge fan of literally all of them - this game just executes them poorly, and severely fails to capture my interest. If you're going to get it, get it on a good sale.

The potential of s&box is massive, undeniably. But currently, immediately as you start up the game, it feels much more like an early access release than anything.

Character customization is super limited and lack basic UI features such as indicators for which of the two models accessories influence. You can only choose between two skin colours, and gender features are also locked between man and woman. Doesn't feel quite like the "endless sandbox fun" I had heard so much about. I'd also REALLY like to not be advertised products to in the game I paid full price for.

Loading screens are also long as hell! And not only are they lengthy, the screen also freezes and do that classic valve "screen shifting slightly with white borders" effect that I've seen so much in older titles. Feels crazy to STILL have that in a modern title!

The UI in general is also pretty confusing, and UX is also lacking. Most buttons merely get highlighted as you hover over them, but aren't feelable when you click them. There's also no indicator for how long until you're loaded into a game. You just have to sit there and wait.

Also, perhaps most annoying to me, who was hoping to make games in this - I cannot figure out where the game editing tool is. No doubt I can find this via a simple google search, but it speaks to the confusing nature of the UI that I can't find my way around this sh*t.

As an additonal must-fix - there is no way to adjust sound effect volume...?? I played for 25 minutes in a mini golf server, and had my ears obliterated every single time someone used an airhorn. Despite every other audio type being perfectly fine.

---------------------------------------

Game feels undercooked as it is now. Not BAD - not by any stretch of the imagination. But it could use a lot of touchups and QoL changes across the board. My review here is negative primarily to bring attention to this, and I'll be happy to change it to a positive once the game feels properly fleshed out.

Genuinely, genuinely a wonderful experience. I really like bullet hells and I am nonbinary, this might have been made for me.

The bullet hell element is fine, it's no touhou if you were worried. There's also a setting between easy and standard, if you're not a savant like me.

The writing is wonderful. Really concise and to the point, and manages to communicate the world and the events happening, the emotions being felt, so well. I had a breakdown at the start of the boy route when I realized this character was having the exact same confused thoughts about the world as I had had. It was really therapeutic. It made me feel less alone.

It's super good, I can only recommend it.

As a disclaimer, I think this game is phenomenal. Gameplay? Sound design? Graphics and aesthetics? Absolutely. ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. Stellar. There is genuinely not a SINGLE THING I dislike about this game... with EXCEPTION of the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ AI voices.

This is not an argument about ethics - the voices just SOUND bad. I find myself actively skipping cutscenes and general story bits because the voices have zero emotion, zero inflection. How do you expect me to get an attachment to the world on a personal level when no NPC even sounds real?

If this one single thing was as high quality as the rest of the game, I would have been absolutely overjoyed to rate it a 10/10. Why they settled for something this actively bad, something which stands so much in contrast to the rest, I will never be able to understand.

As a disclaimer, my playtime is 2.5 hours because in the middle of the demo, I paused the game and went to make dinner which took me around an hour and a half. The game itself is roughly an hour long, maybe 2-3 if you're not as practiced a gamer.

------------------------------------------

So. Don't Stop Girlypop is a buttery smooth boomer shooter in the style of ultrakill, but with you instead being a dazzling slayful fairy fighting against the tyranny of an oppressive regime. From here on out I can't really give much in-depth commentary. I played on the hardest difficulty, yet never even felt remotely close to dying. How do you die? I don't know. My assumption is that you die when you reach zero speed while in combat. Which never really got close to happening because I think I'm a bit goated.

Overall my opinion of the game is very positive. The maps were cool and varied, the artstyle is fun, the music was surprisingly super good, and the general acting, voice acting and writing, made for a really fun experience. Of COURSE Gianni is in it.

But there are DEFINITELY some rough, unpolished, questionable elements.

As a disclaimer, creative critique is what I like to do the most. I again want to emphasize that I really liked the game. You should try it yourself! There being more negatives listed than positives is simply because I find it far more fun to focus on these aspects.

First off, the game doesn't do a very good job with tutorials. For the most part, tutorials will show up on your screen AS YOU ARE PLAYING. You are going 50 km/h trying to dodge projectiles while shooting back at enemies, so lets be honest. There is no chance I am reading your informational popup. Most times I didn't even register the popups occurerd because I was so laser-focused on the enemies on the screen. There are, however, several tutorials which are ingrained in the gameplay itself, where it teaches you the fundamental, important mechanics, an example being the train section. THESE are really well done.

It also feels like the game has some mechanics for the sake of simply having those mechanics. An "I'm in the genre, I gotta have this!" type of feeling. Parrying. Why? In what world are you registering bullets traveling your way enough to actively deflect them? I did the tutorial for it, and then never touched the button again. There was never a need.

3 guns. Why? I used the prop gun exclusively. Beat the whole game without issue. Why would I bother with the other two? I'm oneshotting almost everything I hit with it as long as I maintain my speed.

Also, the game has secrets. I dig this big time, however... The one secret I did find was you simply standing still and listening to really long, drawn out dialogue of gianni talking like he got a concussion. Standing still. In Don't Stop Girlypop. There HAS to be a better method of implementation for these. Put me on a high speed rail way where I'm just wave dashing in one direction while the dialogue plays so I can focus on that while still getting the FEELING that I'm speedy, or something else. Just please avoid making the player come to a screeching halt.

One of the best FPS roguelikes on the market, period. The sheer satisfaction of getting a run so good that you are oneshotting entire rooms of enemies, plus every single boss you encounter, is unmatched. There's still skill required; missing your shot or ability can cause your window to expire, and then you have to wait and focus on dodging. And because of that added skill expression, it makes success all the sweeter!

My only complaint about this game is that it sure was translated from chinese to english. I wish the devs would hire me or something so I could personally rewrite all the tooltips that need it. Because it's REALLY difficult to understand some things.

This game is a blast but I am SO f*cking lost. It's very rare to have a game which is so bare bones in terms of UI. No minimap indicators of any sorts, not for you, not for save points, not for collectibles.

A fast travel system would also be a damn godsend. I cannot stress how easy this world is to get lost in. The world is ENORMOUS. That's a huge plus for exploration! But immediately becomes a huge minus the second you get lost and the game isn't capable of assisting you to find your way back on track.

Sybil also seems to HATE ledgegrabbing and will in 90% of scenarios rather wall jump off a 1 cm edge than actually grab on to it. I'm sure I'll get used to it, but it feels extremely clunky.

Played a bit on steam after spending well over 200 hours on mobile. You better make sure you sign up with the correct account or you're gonna be in for a world of hurt. Nexon does not make it simple to change your linked accounts.

Also, while I really do love the fundamentals of this game, you will eventually reach a point where you just kinda run out of fun content. And here I'm specifically talking about challenging gameplay, which requires you to think. I have like 10 former events which I missed that I could run... But it's literally just akin to a visual novel, and I'm not that heavily invested into the characters. Raids are fun but they're limited time and incredibly repetitive. Very rarely involving unique mechanics.

Again, I think this game is fantastic, with an enormous roster of characters which feel alive, and it deserves being as popular as it is. But it also could improve in a lot of aspects.

Also make Noa/yuuka a canon ship you colossal cowards

It's ok I guess. Granted I far from experienced everything, but this game just kinda felt like a roblox game taken to steam. Acceptable fun for a couple of hours if you have a big friend group to play with.
