The game fails at the tower defense aspect and mostly focuses on the FPS portion. This is attributed by the early garbage balance around co-op without it being implemented since the cooldown of traps were so damn slow to be effective without gunning things. You WILL be forced to use your ammunition and not as a last resort to kill stragglers but because your traps are barely useful early on and the waves get more and more enemies. You'll only get resources by bum rushing waves and/or running head-in to pick up the currency needed to upgrade your sh@t. Two waves on the second wave? Good fking luck defending that with 4-5 traps. With the long cooldowns you'll be lucky to kill a few with a trap once they just start swarming. Even moreso if RNG tells you to piss off when you have only traps that work on one enemy type but no other.

Fun bite-sized extraction shooter worth your time whether it be long or short. The AI is not too hard nor difficult, competent enough to provide some challenge while dumb enough to just pick off if you're prepared. Not all enemies are after you, they'll even fight amongst themselves, alone or in groups. They're differentiated by their mask and equipment. Spacial audio is pretty good, allowing you to hear random chatter and footsteps as they encroach or firing their gun. Some enemies nearby will even sprint at noise sources. Glass windows are also no problem and they will fire if they see you through the window of a door which can also shatter and leave traces of glass. There is a bit of meta progression and you do lose your currency when dying, but it keeps a small percentage of it to allow incrementally unlocking things as you please. Gunplay is simple but still pretty good and punchy with a jamming mechanism and loading a fresh mag with no bullet chambered involves sliding the pistol. There's no resource management so the only thing you need to focus on is the enemy and your own gunplay. If you're so inclined, single-chambered headshot only runs can be performed by sliding every bullet out of the magazine although that'd be a tad difficult if they're in groups.

Mostly flash with little substance. The game has looting which is completely pointless. Enemies can freely encroach you from anywhere, even offscreen, is ridiculous but will happen frequently since you will be backtracking a stupid amount. The cooldown on your skills vs the enemies is absurdly long. Do not get fooled by the pretty visuals and punchy sounds, the gameplay is a wash.

Action-focused sidescroller that features an engaging fantasy story featuring an MC searching for their lost friend with some interesting twists. It has an engaging story making you wonder more about why the events that happen occurred. Soundtrack isn't bad either despite being a mixture of different sources that somehow work really well with the game's aesthetics and atmosphere. The store feels nostalgic.

There are passive abilities that can be slotted in order to adjust combat abilities, make grinding easier, and add additional UI features which each take up a magic crystal capacity that can be expanded . Combat features button mashing which differ in moveset for sword/2h-sword/lance/wand/hammer/etc., directional attacks which tend to be the same for every weapon, and skills that vary from summons, support, and active attacks which each provide some level of invulnerability time. All of these are not gate-kept behind going to specific areas to swap out when you really need specific builds during boss fights. Want to focus on two handing and then swap to sword-shield in the middle of battle because bullet hell? Open the menu, navigate to the equipment/skills/abilities, swap out, done and no additional futzing.

However, the game does force you to be on the lookout for hidden treasure in the clunky map designs since the way you unlock more moves is via treasure chests in the world. This involves searching for tiny directional arrows, mini-bullseye, and obscure hidden paths. Some of these can only be reached once the appropriate skills and combat maneuvers are acquired to combo together. Puzzles are relatively easy and obscure since sometimes the game provides prompts noting an interactable and other times they're just obstacles that you mash buttons and/or use random baubles you find to interact with it.

The game is fast and doesn't futz around with handlholding so much meaning combat, puzzle solving, and story keep the momentum going. Absolutely recommend this game. Also, I will never forgive KEIZO for Chapter 5. Both for the questionable "correct" choice and the aftermath of the "wrong".

A really fun shoot em up that takes elements of rogulikes and vampire survivors to create something pretty and fun.

Your mech also changes in appearance as you get more weapons which is pretty cool even though you won't be able to focus on it when enemies are running all over.

However, the movement speed upgrades in this game feel kinda useless. Enemies are really fast by comparison so the best solution is to fire as fast as possible which was many multi-shot weapons as possible. Defense is mostly your enemy :x

Fun and immersive zombie survival that requires you to work for the resources to continue to survive. Each passing day decreases your chances of surviving due to the degradation of food meaning you can't just loot everything and stockpile it unless they're canned. There's hunting that requires you to properly place traps to acquire protein, scavenging plants, and seeds that you will rarely find depending on where you search.

Gearing up is essential since you have to guard multiple areas of your body to not get bitten. There is no cure, get infected and you will die. Going loud will do you no favors since ammo is scarce and noise draws large hordes. Shooting isn't manual and your efficiency with a gun is very reliant on its level so plan ahead before drawing attention. It's also possible lacerate yourself and bleed to death within seconds if you don't tie it down. Bandaging also requires maintenance since the bandage can get dirty leading to infection.

There are items that can be broken down for resources used in crafting. Eventually setting up a base will require scavenging and disassembling a lot of resources in order to fortify, power, and repair things it over the days. You're not safe even when sleeping so you'll eventually set up checkpoints traversing further out for more resources and your character's rest is integral to ensuring that they don't fumble on actions.

Great time sink if you have a group of friends to coordinate/roleplay with in the city or want to live out your fantasy of playing a character living against all odds on their lonesome.

Really fun arena shooter for cheap. Challenging enemies, multiple guns, temporary emplacements around the maps, and good ol' fashioned shooting fun. Color palette is nothing to write home about but the designs of enemies make them easy to distinguish while jumping around the arena.

A very fun open-world Sonic game. Never been a huge fan of Sonic outside of the 3D series. What I adored in the 2D series was the beautiful the pixel art along with the sense of speed but aside from those I disliked most of the games due to stages being non-sensical in design for speed running. The 3D series however provided spectacle, exploration, and a variety of options for traversing levels whether it be from the stage props or your characters abilities. Although stages in this game are non-sensical as well, they're fun to use to traverse the large world despite feeling so barren. Combat in this game also isn't that bad. It is shallow in the sense that you can button mash but makes those small moments entertaining. Cyberspace levels are traditional sonic gameplay but they're not as long. S-ranking requires time attack, ring quota, star collection, and just getting to the end. It's a bit janky to play in these levels due to how the game handles moment in that it just kills it when doing mid-air actions.

If there is a complaint I have about the game it's the camera. It is awful. It will freak out, zoom in too close, force perspectives, etc. A lot of these lead to moving Sonic is undesirable ways or inhibiting your ability to parry because you can't even tell what's going on.

The game is pricey, but it's been fun to be able to play an open world Sonic game since Sonic Adventures 1.
