Quarantine Zone: The Last Check popped up on my feed a few months ago and immediately looked like it was made for me. The whole vibe feels like Papers, Please but with zombies. Border control with tension, moral pressure, and infected chaos. That alone sold me.

What surprised me most is how deep some of the systems go. It is not just checking papers and scanning for bites. There is base management, research, endless mode, and even Twitch integration layered on top. I am about 4 hours in so far, and here is where I stand.

Pros
- Super fun premise
- The zombie gameplay loop is satisfying
- Visuals are strong and really complement the theme
- Endless mode is a great time and the Twitch integration is a very welcome addition
- Research mechanics are more interesting than expected
- Constantly puts you in positions where you have to make tough calls

Cons
- Base management can get tedious and overwhelming pretty fast
- Drone combat feels unbalanced at times
- Maybe a bit too many zombie identifying tools

Overall, I am enjoying my time with it. The concept carries a lot of weight and it makes for genuinely good content.

Right now I would give it a 7.5 out of 10.

To push it higher, I would love deeper narrative engagement. It feels like a stronger story layer is missing. I would also tone down some of the management mechanics and maybe add a bit more FPS combat to raise the intensity.

Still, if the premise clicks with you, there is a lot here to like.

Playing Control was something I genuinely wanted to love from day one, but a few gameplay mechanics held it back from reaching its full potential. While I still recommend the game for several reasons outlined below, there were enough frustrating moments that I would not personally replay it a second time.

Pros

- The story and overall theme are intriguing and genuinely deep. This is what carried me through most of the experience
- Moment to moment gameplay is visceral, fun, and consistently engaging. The abilities feel powerful and deliver a great power fantasy
- The Remedy-Verse is handled extremely well (no spoilers here, but they did a great job)
- The AWE DLC is interesting and ties several elements together nicely
- Visually, the game is high quality and runs well, even on devices like the Steam Deck

Cons

- The UI is extremely bare, to the point where it becomes borderline useless
- The map is basically a 2d image; missing majority of basic features like [zoom in] or [change floors]. This becomes especially frustrating in a game with so many maze-like areas and heavy verticality. Since the map is somewhat changing at moments this creates many moments as a player I felt lost.
- The skill and upgrade system feels tacked on. Most of the time I am not changing my upgrades, and I end up recycling the overwhelming majority of them. You constantly pick up useless modifiers, and inventory space is limited
- Balancing is inconsistent. You can go from dropping enemies with one or two headshots to dealing with bullet sponges that lead to cheap deaths. Even YouTube guides encourage players to “cheese” enemies
- Missable abilities create unnecessary frustration. On my first playthrough, I reached the end of the game without ever unlocking the Block ability. This caused me to quit out of frustration and not return for about five years. While optional upgrade paths sound interesting on paper, they can easily put players in situations where progression feels impossible
- The Foundation DLC feels like it was handled by a less experienced team and lacked quality

Overall, I would give Control an 8 out of 10. I recommend it to anyone interested in the Remedy-Verse, SCP-style storytelling, or anyone who simply wants a solid sci-fi action game.

Unfortunately, the frustrating elements surrounding the UI, map, and difficulty spikes prevent me from scoring it any higher. Here’s hoping we see improvements in the sequel or other upcoming Remedy titles.

I’ve played about 4 hours of Roadside Research so far. A bit solo, but mostly in co-op with friends.

The game has a genuinely fun and unique premise, and there’s something really charming about how it executes on it. It doesn’t take itself too seriously, which works in its favor.

PROS
-Very charming overall vibe
-The face drawing mechanic is a really fun addition
-Funny premise that leads to some great moments
-Co-op works well and feels smooth
-The shop and gas station gameplay loop is simple but satisfying

CONS
-The Agent gameplay loop feels a bit lackluster right now
-UI could use some polish
-Human animations feel a little stiff
-Needs more risk vs reward and higher stakes
-Could use a larger overarching goal instead of just going day to day

Overall, in its current state, I’d give it a 7 out of 10.

That’s not a bad score, but it does feel pretty average at the moment because it hasn’t fully leaned into what could make it special yet. I’d really like to see it push harder into co-op depth and refine the alien and Agent mechanics to create more tension and payoff.

And yes, this is Early Access. It’s clearly unfinished. There’s a solid foundation here, it just needs more weight behind its systems to really elevate it.

Ive been following this game since its announcement at the game awards!

During my time with Arc Raiders, I found myself really enjoying the core gameplay loop. The aggression-based matchmaking is a smart and welcome addition for this style of game, and it genuinely elevates the experience.

Pros

>The world’s realization and overall immersion are top tier
>Looting is fun, rewarding, and well designed\
>Arcs feel distinct from one another and feature impressively crafted AI
>Moment to moment gameplay is visceral, satisfying, and consistently engaging

Cons

>Missions and quests feel disconnected from each other and from my co-op partners. We can all load in with completely different objectives, and shared co-op goals rarely extend beyond fighting the Arc
>Missions feel short for what is intended to be a PvPvE experience
>The hub area comes across as bare and underwhelming
>Because of the skill tree progression, you start the game feeling undeniably weak
>Most cosmetics have at least one off-putting element that breaks the entire look, which makes it hard to justify buying any of them
>A large portion of the game is locked behind progression, making the first 5 to 10 hours feel more like chores than fun

Overall, Arc Raiders is a fun and refreshing twist on the extraction shooter formula. It delivers a more accessible and less sweat-heavy experience while still offering engaging combat and strong atmosphere.

I am giving it a solid 8 out of 10.

To push that rating higher, I would love to see:

-More co-op or group centered missions
-World or community driven challenges
-Make the Hub more interesting or a social space

So far, I’m really enjoying my time with YapYap. It’s cute, simple, and easy to pick up and play with friends. The voice-activated spellcasting is surprisingly well implemented and adds a great layer of role-play and immersion to the whole experience.

Vandalizing is genuinely fun, and the different systems tied to it work nicely together as they overlap and combine.

That said, the enemy AI is the biggest thing holding the game back right now. It feels rough and brings down the overall experience more than anything else.

At the moment, I’d give this a solid 7.5/10.

To push that score higher, I’d love to see:

- Improved enemy AI, with clearer ways to anticipate attacks and better overall damage balancing
- More map variety
- Additional wand elements
- More options and mechanics for vandalizing
- More stuff to do in the hub

Update 02/22/2026!
----------------------

The Crash during the tutorial is Fixed (So i've been able to play more)
Performance is still horrible and im pretty sure the FPS indicator is lying.

Its quite demanding on your CPU and GPU

Please Optimize

-------
Unplayable!
Crashed 3x times in the 5 min mark of the tutorial
I spent more time in the Shader Compiling, than playing the ACTUAL Game...

Only thing FUNNY about this game is its performance on my 5080.... Oooof

This is Sad :(

So far I cannot reccomend this game.
Many below me have said it:

Visuals & Style are Top Notch
Story is interesting, Bizarre and VERY Japanese
But the Gameplay:

Level Design is Incoherent
Balancing is Below Average
& Frustration level is quite high !

6/10 for the time being

Split Fiction had a ton of hype when it dropped, so I jumped in and played it co-op. Honestly, I had a mix of really good moments and some pretty frustrating ones.

The art style is super nice and the game looks great, and the gameplay itself is fun. It does a good job of keeping things fresh and switching things up.

But the story was kinda mid for me and didn’t really keep me hooked, and the difficulty felt all over the place. Some parts were way too easy, and then other sections randomly spiked.

Overall, it’s definitely worth playing on sale, and the last chapter is where the game really comes together. That said, I don’t see myself ever replaying it, not even as the other character with the slightly different abilities.

I saw Hellmart pop up in my feed and since I’m a big fan of both simulation games and horror, it felt right up my alley. I also saw a bunch of reviews saying people felt kinda tricked or misled about what the game actually is.

But honestly, I didn’t have that experience at all.

The simulation side is genuinely well done and feels pretty polished, and the horror side is weird and creepy in a way that kept me interested and pushing forward.

That said, the game is a bit short. I got my first ending in around 3 hours. I definitely agree with people saying an Endless mode would help a lot and give it more long-term replay value.

Overall, I enjoyed my time with it, but I was left wanting more. 7.5/10

One of my all-time favorite games, and one of the only live service games that still keeps me coming back. I was hooked from day one, and with all the updates over the years there’s always new stuff to do.

The immersion is unreal | it genuinely feels like you’re living the pirate life.

The art style is fun and unique, the gameplay is easy to learn but has a lot of depth, and the social chaos is what keeps it fresh.

Some of my best gaming moments in the last few years happened in Sea of Thieves
