I logged hundreds of hours in GMod Tower as well as this.

Pixel Tail Games have been spending years honing the game into a fun relaxing party experience and I genuinely can't recommend it enough.

I have more than 400 hours in the game. I'm literally playing it as I type this review. That should say enough about how good this game is.

the hours are completely inaccurate as I have owned this game for 20 years across Dreamcast and Gamecube.

SA1 and 2 are my favorite games ever. Please play them.

re-editing this review in response to changes ever since the original additions of safes and microtransactions.

The game has absolutely swung back around to being a much purchase again. While yes, the safes are still there, none of the ones released since around half a yearish or so after the original update require micro transactions now. In addition, all of the benefits a skinned gun had are available for all guns as "boosts". Rebalancing in the game has also made a LOT of games much more viable than they were after the balance patch when they added microtransactions, and now, unless you're all the way up to One Down (The new highest difficulty) you are able to run pretty much anything and make a good go of it.

I'd say definitely pick this game up, at the least when its on sale, and it, along with its dlc, goes on sale often.

Some time after this review is published theres also going to be a 'complete' pack out so, should that be out, and its on sale for cheap, get that. If you've got friends, PD2 is a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ blast.
