Incredible fun, with a developer that actually understand how to listen to its community and filter out noise from relevant feedback.

For sure it's more fun with friends, but even solo the game is a hoot, and has led to some amazing interactions so far.

Highly recommended.

If you're a fan of the original Shutokō Battle/Tokyo Xtreme Racer series, you'll absolutely adore this.

I've been playing these games since they debuted on the Dreamcast in '99 under the "Tokyo Xtreme Racer" name, and this one is just the latest in an amazing series of arcade like racers that don't take themselves too seriously, but offer huge amounts of super fun gameplay.

If you're familiar with the originals, you're familiar with this, but they've now added in all manner of extras, including driver and tuning progression trees, more detail on the characters you race against and more social aspects to the game where you can hit the parking areas around the Shuto Expressway. This lets you speak to drivers, gather hints on where you can find rivals, and challenge other rivals who are parked to battle.

The inclusion of three way and four way battles is also super cool. Even in early access without a full tree of rivals and endgame content, this is incredibly fun, well balanced, and super good to play.

This game isn't a game. It's ASMR and therapy rolled into one.

With no resource gathering, no drama and no time limits, you're left to craft your own little dioramas in an absolutely stunningly rendered world.

For a such a small development team (I think there's two people on the core development team if I'm not mistaken), it's astonishing that they've created such a stunning, intricate, detailed world to build in, with a user experience that's clear, concise and intuitive to use.

My only criticism of the whole experience is that I'd love larger areas to build in, and I'd love more diversity in the building materials and styles to make it a little more replayable.

That said, what an incredible little sandbox that's relaxing, endearing and absolutely sublime to play in.

Fantastic game, and considering the size of the development team they've worked miracles to put together such a polished product.

Star Trucker had a bit of a rough start with fast depleting power cells and truck systems that were a little too sensitive, but since the most recent patch this has been addressed with larger capacity cells and a few behind the scenes tweaks.

They story line part of the game is fairly rudimentary in terms of missions, but is well written and has some fantastic voice acting and characters. It's a little short, but hopefully in time they'll expand this as well as the skill sets that you can work through.

Levelling is reasonably paced, and there's a decent amount of specialisations to unlock.

My main criticisms of the game would be:

- Not being able to run multiple trailers from different jobs together, so you can haul more than one job at a time and drop off trailers along the way, or pick more up.
- Multiple trailer physics - as someone who's driven an articulated truck, the behaviour of trailers needs to be toned down a little so they're less prone to flailing behind your rig. They're a little oversensitive.
- Longevity - I'd love to see more story based content over time, as well as map expansions with more systems to explore, and even more types of cargo to haul.

Outside that, the game is a fantastic piece of work, with stunning visuals, varied environments and really great mechanics.

As someone who was born if a former coal mining village in the heart of the north east of England, this game hits the spot in every way.

It's a bit on rails, but the dialogue, the story telling, the voice acting and the art direction are all absolutely phenomenal.

An absolute treat!

I waited for a long time for this and tried to love it, but the truth is that it's just not worth the delays, or the price.

I had no performance issues or bugs to speak of other than one random NPC stuck in a T pose in the club during the first missions.

The game is just very two-dimensional, trying too hard to be edgy, and didn't grip me at all.

Very whelmed.
