A promising game, that ended up only increasingly disappointing.

I held off on buying this game for a decently long time, and finally decided to get it on this very summer sale. I must say, after all the changes from Year 1 and the recent Year 2 additions (Armor 2.0, Overkill drone, Overskills, Jacket) it's extremely fun, the Year 1 heists and Party Powder are very good, and the game feels fun, well optimized and server errors are not even close to as prevalent as they were on launch. A few things still require some love, like Skills (which are confirmed to be getting a rework this year!) and gadgets. But besides that, the game only needs more content, as it has to compete with the gap of 10+ years of content that PD2 has. At the current price, especially on the sale, it's more than worth it. The soundtrack by Gustavo Coutinho also knocks it out of the park (as usual). I urge you to give it a try, as effort was most definitely put in to get this game up to the standard we expected, but do not expect the same or similar experience as PD2, as PD3 takes its own route, which I feel like is a fine thing, as if you want Payday 2, simply play Payday 2, no one is stopping you. I was very positively surprised overall, and I will continue to play the game in hopes that as time goes on, it will fully become a worthy successor that people will not overhate on as much as they do right now. (Which I understand, SBZ/OVK have lost a lot of goodwill/reputation from the launch).
