Compared to it's sister series, Monster Hunter, this game is a diamond in the rough. As I have spent more than 500 hours total with purchasing this game on previous gen (PS3), and its DLC release Dark Arisen on PS3 as well. Both being valued at around $40. This game is worth all of the money that was put into it. I seriously reccommend this game as a good JRPG with a lot of variation, style and an impressively satisfying soundtrack. Unlike a lot of games, this game has certain phases within it's soundtrack to indicate diffuculty as well as letting you know you have the upper hand.

Things done well (Pros)
Combat is impressively fun and rewarding
Utilizes the Monster Hunter formula but more focused on varying sizes for mobs.
Soundtrack is godly
Though this doesn't quiite apply to me, it was initially inspired by Berserk as well as Dark Souls.

Things done poorly (Cons)
In-game Cinematics aren't fantastic, meaning they use basic animations used for character interations like talking and other basic emotions, kinda cheaply done.

NPCs that sell items will definitely get annoying, Caxton will say this line constantly if you are looking through his shop and you are indecisive-- switching between Sell and Buy options.

Story isn't exactly all that great. "You are the Chosen One, go do the thing." Thats pretty much how the game was.

Things that require attention (Notes for the developer)
Scaling for damage for any of the skills isnt noted, knowing this information will help players understand how they want to increase to be able to use properly.

Make all debilitation resistances visible even if the character doesn't have any resistance to it. As well as describing what it does. This will help people understand which debilitations one would rather avoid are. For example, Petrification kills after a certain amount of time.

Bias:
I personally more likely than not, prefer gameplay rather than story.

P.S. I don't often decide to go back through games and complete them several more times. But I just completed the game in Hard Mode not too long ago, and recieved a special clothing set: The Duke's Clothing Set. As well as the Abyssinal Outfit.
