Stockholm Syndrome: The Game

The art and sound design is phenomenal, it sets the perfect atmosphere.

The combat is unique and satisfying, it makes you want to jump into another mission.

The mission leaders and playable characters are likeable, and have memorable quotes.

The premium shop is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, and makes you want to jump the vendor.

The devs released the game practically unfinished and with problems that were solved in previous games they made. They’ve cleaned up many messes, but some still remain.

Overall, the game is in great shape.

The amount of ammo drops in levels are a bit ridiculous, however it’s okay because the visual and sound design is so good you’ll want to keep holding down the fire button.

It is still in early access, so it has some frustrating physics sometimes. particularly with the hose. The only enemies I've encountered so far are giant bunnies, however these bunnies can ohko you and are really buggy (BS like spawning behind you and phasing through doors.) They are really stupid and can't pathfind, for example if you are behind your car they'll just run into that and die. I would play on peaceful until you start driving because they are so annoying when you’re setting up. I heard the terrain gets more hilly to balance the difficulty change on peaceful.


As for the car customization, you can take off and put on whatever you want. There's a radio you can use in each car, which is pretty cool. Most of the radio stations aren't very good, but there is a talk show which I like. It has around 11 minutes of dialogue so you're gonna hear some repeated lines, but it's still interesting and gives some lore and humor to the game. There is also a custom radio station which I really like. It's simple to use, just turn youtube videos in mp3 (there's some other formats too if you want) and put in the CustomRadio folder. You can play funny videos for memes or play Big Iron while driving through the desert and pretend it's Fallout New Vegas.


There are food and water meters that you have to take care of or you will gradually lose health. There are also bodily waste meters you need to empty so can still take in food and water. You can sleep at night, but it's really just an option to pass the time. You should always keep these meters visible in the HUD. The controls are crappy to learn but easy once you get the hang of them. There is some player customization but I've only used it to remove my mustache.


The singleplayer is good, but I've heard the multiplayer isn't. I haven't played this game with anyone yet, but i take their word for it.


1. Store food and small items in baskets, it's easier to keep them in one place. I don't have to worry about things moving around in my car if baskets disable physics on items inside. They'll even stick if you turn the basket upside down. Baskets can also attach to the outside of your car so you can access them easier and you won't have to open up your trunk as much.

2. If you find a lot of food in a fridge and want to empty it at your car instead of going back and forth, push it instead of carrying it. You can barely move while carrying a fridge, it’s only good for lifting it over something. Meanwhile if you just walk into it, it will move as fast as you do. It’s a bit awkward keeping it in front of you as you’re sprinting, but it saves a lot of the headache.
