TLDR game is great but has a critical issue with force feedback disabling itself on thrustmaster wheels. Known issue on forums, first mention around SEPTEMBER 2024 Beware, TM users.

Hello dear developers.

https://community.lemansultimate.com/index.php?threads/input-losing-ffb-between-sessions.3442/page-3

This issue has been in the game for at least 18 MONTHS now. I sometimes get ffb I sometimes don't, sometimes reset ffb fixes the issue, sometimes spamming it 20 times in a row or ant other interval and repetition does NOTHING.

Newest drivers are installed, I'm using usb 3.0 port that works great with PSVR2 and other high bandwidth usb devices I have plugged in there.

I like this game daily races and endurance races are good. I'll keep playing it but don't expect me buying more DLC, even though I really wanted to.

Yesterday my ffb died on the race grid. No time to restart, daily online sprint format so basically even unplugging for a moment is a disaster.

Again, I like this game but if you don't want to play around disappearing ffb. Other games don't have this issue, both on ps5 and pc. I played plenty. This is the only game with such issue out of a few dozens that I've played across 2 different TM wheels (T300 and T248R that I use currently)

If ya all have a thrustmaster wheel and don't want to deal with constant headache of plug unplug rejoin server restart pc mash reset ffb button and the likes, do not buy this game. Just look at the thread link above, it's a known issue for many wheel models for TM, even simucube and Logitech users mention it, although this is much more rare there.

I'll change this review once the fix is made on either game side or driver side. Until then, buyers beware. I'll probably stick to just endurance racing with friends + trainings for them until something is done.

It's okay for early access to have bugs but we're in 1.2 now...

It feels stylish like Katana Zero and sometimes a bit overwhelming like Dead Cells, but it seems to take a LOT of good stuff from both, while keeping their pain points further away from the player.

I really like the ammo mechanic and how distinguishable the sliding and rolling are to each other. Controls on a pad are smooth, gameplay is interesting, bosses can be fun tricky but are intuitive to figure out after just 1 minute of caution.

Caution is the name of the game and I like how simplified the health is - no need to think how much would specific mob do to you - it's always the same.

i really vibe with this game, although if you play on controller I'd recommend to either change some controls around to have triggers and shoulder buttons do important, constant actions, or have a pad with back buttons. Access to jump and dodge at all times is pretty important and can sometimes decide on the run success.

DO NOT BUY. IF YOU BOUGHT, REFUND AND DO NOT LAUNCH THE GAME.

Client connects with some chinese IP that is reported by AVs as malicious. I doubt mass reports will do anything but people are reporting getting RCEd and getting their credentials stolen.

Absolutely amazing experience with a lot of written lore, things to do, Easter eggs to find and puzzles to solve. My favourite game of all time was Portal for very very long, however this has exceeded my expectations greatly. If you like solving puzzles, it's enough of a recommendation. If you in addition like philosophy and written lore, this is at least a must-try.

Especially great if you have someone like-minded to explore the world and take turns solving puzzles and reading the text in-game. Patiently waiting for the sequel :)

Interesting take on adding some elements to otherwise simplistic turn based game. Doesn't feel like full-blown RPG while still adding some customisation elements like items or cards.

Absolutely great. Campaign is coming soon, and the amount of songs and variety that is already in the game is awesome. Unfortunately no custom maps, but I can see why with the overall game design (obstacles, every level featuring slightly different, unique artstyle etc.).

But overall, for rhythm games and fps player, this is a very cool, gallery shooter-like combination.

If Destiny 2 started with Shadowkeep campaign when it was released, it wouldn't have survived. Worst campaign with the most pointless grind in between missions in history of all D2 campaigns. Rehashed content. Barely anything new. The least content since Warmind for the price of Warmind AND Osiris campaigns back when they were purchasable. I could go on and on... I'm so disappointed, skip unless you feel like you NEED any of the activities from this expansion.

It especially hurts because the game itself is GOOD. Just this DLC is a massive disappointment.

Update:
They fixed lack of mid-level saves. Game is absolutely amazing after all the updates. 9.5/10 probably best in its kind.

Played on: Oculus Rift S

The review is mainly targeted for people, who are hesitant on purchasing the game and do not want to ruin their initial impressions with gameplay videos/streams, so except of some vague explanation, I will attempt to keep the descriptions as generalised as possible. Additionally, this review is very extensive, so if you'd want something more compact, then unfortunately this is not the place.

I've only been through one level (excluding the tutorial, which is brilliant on its own and could as well be sold separately for lower price), but I can already say that it is worth the full price. Firstly, a word of warning - the devs do not joke around with the title being made for experience VR users - there are a lot of mechanics (both complex and potentially motion sickness-inducing), that could turn off fresh VR users.

For starters I can just list the main positives which LARGELY make this game stand out from other VR games (with negatives coming later, as for me positives definitely outweigh the negatives):

Positives
- Well thought out locomotion
- Great accessibility (Standing and Seated play, different movement schemes, rotation modes, HMD and hand-based running direction, extensive height setup)
- Best physics and world interaction I have ever seen in VR
- Very good balance of combat, platforming and puzzles
- Big feeling of freedom, even though the levels are linear. The levels are massive in size and just the scale of them is just amazing. There are often at least 2 ways of getting to the other side of a corridor/gap, which is also motivating, given that they often resonate within different platforming styles (reaction-based traversal vs slowly puzzling the way out for example).
- A lot of references to general VR terms and VR development through years in general

There are a lot of small negative points and a big one, which may potentially get several people hindered or even unable to play the game. I will try not to nitpick, but to list everything that makes sense to mention:

small/little impact flaws
- Game does a rather bad job of explaining which item can go into holster slots (instead of your back) - you have two of them and even some one-handed weapons do not fit into them. For example, hatchet looks like it would fit into a small holster but it does not. Same with bricks and a few smaller objects you can find in the world. This can become especially frustrating after you decide to take an item you cannot even store, as both your "big item" slots are already filled with more valuable/important props.
- As far as I know, there is no way of rotating objects in your hand. That becomes especially noticeable with items that have two uneven sides of them (mostly big, two-handed props). Same of changing your grip position on the item, which becomes a loss of time and effort as you have to use two hands to adjust the items position in desirable way. If it is a possibility, then it is nowhere explained in the game's tutorial or doesn't come naturally through gameplay.
- Some of larger objects' physics make them difficult to manipulate, especially when holding them with both hands. Bigger two-handed weapons cannot be swung almost at all when holding them with both hands for example.
Additional example with small puzzle spoiler below:
There is a part of the first level where you need to put planks onto your way to move through the gap. Holding the item in both hands make it difficult to put into desirable place, therefore you have to adjust the item's position, then release it from the hand, put your hand on different part of it, rinse repeat until it's in desirable place. Again, time loss on something that shouldn't have taken that long with slight adjustments to how handling items work

- With such freedom of movement and game being dependant on positioning and moving around a lot, lack of indication for where front of play space is can cause you to lose track of it, resulting in tangled cables and potentially damaging your equipment/environment when you are not careful enough. And this game may make you lose your orientation quickly.

Okay, so this is it for the negatives in otherwise very polished game. If these smaller flaws did not gain any attention, then this big one may do.

Big concern/issue
there are no mid-session saves. Meaning if you at any point during the level you have to exit to main menu/leave the game, you LOSE all your progress in a level. Levels are pretty big, they take 50-60 minutes minimum to get through at first (I'm sure it's easier the second time after already knowing solutions to puzzles or where the useful items are), so that can be a huge issue to big percentage of already small VR community. On the other hand, levels can be chosen separately, so if you at any point would want to go back to Tutorial area for example, you don't lose any progress.
This flaw is weird all by itself, looks like a feature cut/postponed for later, as there are checkpoints when you die during the level, however these 'checkpoints' cannot be by any way loaded from the Main Menu. Long story short, if you cannot dedicate yourself at least 60 minutes of spare time to beat a level, then you cannot progress through the game at all. I am very disappointed with this and I'm sure it can be a turnoff for many people (including me, as I sometimes just want to hop in for quick 20-30 minute go and then do something else), so it's a big thing to consider before buying. Personally, I hope some sort of patch addresses this issue.

Conclusion
If none of the issues above look like they could impact your game experience in major way, then congratulations, you are ready to be blown away by the otherwise very well polished game. I personally recommend it all the way, although if I knew there are no mid-session saves, I'd consider just getting something that values my time better instead and wait for the saves to be patched in, as this game cannot be really played in small sessions due to mentioned game save issue. The game still somehow makes up for the hype it had, it just may not be for everyone, especially for people with smaller play spaces as some negative points of this review have stated.

Overall raiting: 8/10 - a conditional must-have.
