Useful Info
I bought the "Pantera 3-Song Pack" from the first Rocksmith game and it worked in Rocksmith 2014 Remastered Edition without me owning the first Rocksmith game or the "Rocksmith 2014 Disc Import Tool" this originally was not possible do to the way in which steam handles DLC for one game seperate from DLC for another game but this has since been fixed (this info is hard to find online and old forum posts discuss how people were unable to even purchase the Rocksmith 1 dlc when they didn't own RS1 but instead owned RS2014)

If you purchase DLC from the Rocksmith 1 store page it wont show up in your steam library when you click on Rocksmith 2014 Remastered Edition, however it will show up in the game under "Learn A Song" and the realtones will show up under "Load Tone" where you can just mess around with that tone.

You can get Custom DLC (CDLC) that's not sold on steam for free at customsforge (google it)
you must buy "Cherub Rock" by "The Smashing Pumpkins" to play any of that free DLC
The reason for this is that most CDLC pretends to be that song and rocksmith will only play DLC that you have purchased
The song that your CDLC pretends to be (Cherub Rock) can be changed to another song DLC that you have purchased if you know how to do it (using a program from customsforge, once for every song you download... it's easier to just buy "Cherub Rock".)
Downloading from customsforge requires you to signup on their forum.
The reason they program CDLC to pretend to be "Cherub Rock" is because that was a pre-order bonus for the game when it was new so early adopters of the game typically had that DLC on day one.
