Where does one even start on this fantastic game, the high intensity action, the easy to learn and sorta hard to master gameplay, or the amazing community. HELLDIVERS 2 is the co-op horde shooter I didn't know I wanted. When the player first boots up the game and is introduced to the world of Helldivers 2 via the tutorial, they most likley get the tone immediately. The fact that Helldivers 2 does not take it self super seriously helps the player understand that wacky thing can and will happen.

The gameplay of Helldives 2 feels both responsive and slow at the same time. The weight of different weapons feels more realistic than most other shooters. When wielding a heavy weapon like a machine gun the aiming is slow and sluggish while the pistol is quick, responsive and even allows you to shoot over you shoulder when you are advancing to future victories aka running for your life. Being able to call in support in the form of orbital strikes and eagle-1 airstrikes is the cherry on top. Having so many different tools at your disposal to spread democracy to Super Earths enemies (and an occasional ally here and there) keeps the game varied enough,.

The two enemy factions currently in Helldivers 2 play a bit differently form each other. The Terminds are swarming you with as many low armored and weak bodies as possible, while The Automatons mostly stay at range and fire laser weaponry and use more heavily armored tanks and robots. With these difference you need to think and plan accordingly, should you use the 1100 RPM light machine gun or the high powerd armor piercing sniper rifle.

The community around Helldivers 2 is amazingly fun and inviting, filled with memes that keeps the spirit of the satire the world of helldivers 2 is built around and helpfull players that teach the foundations of being a good helldiver to new player and keeps this game alive for hopefully years to come.

One thing to note before I sign of is that Nprotect GameGuard have kernel level access to your pc and if this worries you I would steer clear of Helldivers 2



The decision I talk about below has of the 6 of may been reversed but it will remain in my review as a reminder

Because of SONY current choices regarding PSN account being required and blocking legit purchasers of the game in some countries and territories I have to leave a negative review. The best thing they could do is to remove this requirement and keep things as they currently are.
Will move this section of the review to the bottom as a reminder and RECOMMEND Helldiver 2 if things are kept as is and the PSN requirement is dropped.
