Seems pay 2 win, as money buys power, not just cosmetics. It's a very slow grind as you basically have to level your entire team of 6 bots which drop into each match. Unbalanced PvP matchmaking, and only one game mode worth playing, which is randomly chosen. Nice punchy sound effects though.

It's a very detailed stats based game with a retro pixel look. Lots of modes to play with, single games, season and playoffs. I love the franchise system where you can play year on year seasons. I also appreciate that the developer is continuing to update the game with patches tweaking the game and AI to be the best it can be.

EDIT: It seems the developer has rolled back the changes made to users who bought the original V1, as the original boats are usable again and the customisation of those has been reinstated.

I supported this in early access. It was the only sailing simulator, at the time, that allowed you to sail all the oceans of the world with their 'live' weather conditions. It was great! Ok, it was a bit clunky, but it was early access, so you expect it to get better. Games as a service and all. I hoped the clunky UI would be improved, it wasn't. I hoped the obvious bugs would be fixed, they were not. I gave up. The 84 hours I have in game were all during the first year, so in a way I feel I got my monies worth. I thought it was a dead game until V2 arrived. Now apparently I have to pay again to sail the boats I had before V2, and it still has a clunky UI!

V1 USERS BE WARNED: If you delete the boats you had in the world before V2 you WILL have to pay to get the "32' Offshore Racer", the "50' Performance Cruiser" and the "Caribbean Rose" again. I know, I tried this out so you don't have to. Disgusting! Potential buyers, I would tack away from this before you run aground too!

Another Kickstarter backer here. I have followed the development and played the Alpha on and off for the past three years. Don't let the cute graphics fool you, underneath is a very, very deep strategy game more akin to Chess. The only RNG is who goes first and the 8 or so units, from a large balanced set, that constitute the supply during a match. Both players purchase units from this supply during a game by using resources obtained in a manner similar to an RTS. Some resources carry over from turn to turn, while others only exist for the current turn. Using these resources while understanding how the set of units synergize is a major factor of the game. Unit mechanics have such things as 'time to build', 'attack', 'defence', 'hit points', 'lifespan', 'consuming other units to produce new units' and more, which makes calculating future turns quite involved if you want it to be. Being able to use all this information, as nothing is hidden, and map out future turns can be complex but satisfying when you pull off a win.

If you're not into deep thinking, this may not be the game for you.

I bought this when it first came out, played the tutorial and a few games, then never played it again as it was too frustrating. As hunters, if you don't have a team that knows what its doing, you will lose! You get teams of medics who don't heal, supports that don't support, assaults that don't attack and trappers that can't track the monster. Then the monster will kill you all at Stage 1 and everyone will troll each other to 'uninstall' or 'git gud'. If you find this enjoyable, then by all means, this game is for you. Playing it with friends over voice chat who know what they're doing, and it might be an OK game.

I too was a backer of the Kickstarter for this and I really hoped it would be better than it turned out. This review is based on the latest version as of 14-06-2015, and my list of gripes are:

* It looks nothing like the Kickstarter 'teaser' video we were shown.
* Performance is terrible, I have to turn down all the settings and run at a resolution smaller than my default 1920x1080 desktop just to get 30FPS. I have a GeForce 760 and at max settings your lucky to get out of single digit frame rates and this is with basically nothing on screen. See my screenshot gallery for images.
* Stuttering as the camera moves around the world due to resource loading. Which has got better with the latest version.
* Culling of objects is bad, just rotating your view and things will pop in and out.
* Varied object quality. Most objects seem as if they are pulled straight from previous versions of Trainz, and even the new ones are inconsistent with some rail cars allowing running numbers and some not. Texture resolutions are mixed ruining the look.
* The supposed main improvment, that of 'real' switches, doesn't even work most of the time.
* I dislike the UI they use, a lot of thumbnail images they use aren't even at the correct aspect ratio and are blurred, making it look unprofessional.

I could go on, but it's depressing to do so. On the bright side, shadows do actually work.

If only I had Doc Brown's time travelling train, I would pop back and tell myself to steer clear of the T:ANE Kickstarter.

If you hate MOBA's with its last hitting, laning, clicking to move, two teams of five, you may just like DI:E with its WASD moving, action shooting, collecting 'em up, three teams of four game play.

The Horde mode is a great co-op mode for learning, testing out character builds and leveling your assets. Just get your team through the capture points and take out (and I don't mean for dinner) a baddass zombie boss to win.

When you think you're hard enough go for the Scavenger missions in a team of four against two other teams of four. One team getting a bit to big for their boots? Then join up with the other team to take 'em out. First team to scavenge a certain amount of supplies from capture points or enemy team members corpses wins!

After each game receive, some loot for crafting your own selection of murderous equipment.

With games lasting about twenty minutes, there's no need for rage quitting.

As you can tell, I quite like it!
