This is a fun little game, but right now, it is very much using style over substance (or even function). The UI and graphics are great. The core gameplay loop is great. So why aren't I having a great time playing it? The missions are a little samey:
- Go break the thing/stop the thing being broken
-Go kill the dude/stop the dude dying

So, why no fun? Because "hard" for the game, isn't actually hard. It's just more enemies. Honestly, I'm barely seeing a difference in difficulty between Easy and Normal. A lot of the time I don't even die to an enemy, I'll randomly die of starvation, or get a wound I suddenly cannot cure because even with 80% to cure, I'm repeatedly hitting the 20% of "do not heal".

All of these combine into a real feel bad. Finished the mission? Great, but now you actually starve to death before you get to the elevator (Which has happened to me THREE TIMES). And story missions are a combination of being both too long and being flooded with enemies. The core missions take place between 1 and 4 floors, usually the lower two. So why am I doing 6-7 mission in a row story missions, with absolutely no warning it'll take that long? I'm on the third "final stretch" of the AmCom mission, and honestly I now -do not care- what happens (in fact, I'm uninstalling until 1.0) because it has autosaved on the last room when I am out of healing, grenades and food. Oh, now you have to dodge missiles and rain of fire when you've already drained my healing stuff? There is a reason that bossfights give you health and ammo *before* hand.

Anyway, I won't be returning until release, and I don't recommend it until then.

I love this game. I was brought up playing it, an old school dungeon crawler with RPG aspects. Is it the best game in the world? No, but it's aged relatively well, the story is solid, and it's got plenty of character. Well worth a try.

Kickstarted this game. So have not been disappointed. Playing as Jason is great, and playing as the murder victims is just as fun. Can't get enough!
