There are many simulator games at the moment and this is one of the better ones

I have played many simulator games since TCG Card Shop came out and a lot of these are slop trying to take $5 - $20 for your time in their asset flip of a game. There are some gems and I believe this can become one but that comes with some caveats.

There are several issues with the game that F13 (The dev) is addressing and its refreshing to see a dev be so vocal with their community.

Things I love and issues I have

Issues:
- Performance is a major issue and whilst load times and lag have reduced in the last couple of patches there are some major stutters when my mall is at max capacity dropping from 120 down to the low 40s
- Restocker AI is busted ill have restockers go up stairs if I order too much and even go to the store above to put stock away in their own storage room (Yes I have the shelves in the right locations)
- No restockers for mall machines like the vending machines and claw machines
- Very little to do in between opening and closing making it basically an idle game for 15 minutes untill you re-order all sold stock
- only one restocker and cashier per store makes restocking at the end of the day take way longer than it needs to.
- Other features that other Sims implemented like a scanner to quickly order stock or online orders are'nt present making gameplay feel incredibly simple

What I like:
- Variety of product and stores
- You can automate early (But is a double edged sword making gameplay boring)
- The entropy point when you can start unlocking things quickly happens quite late into the game around day 60 meaning that while you don't feel poor you've felt like you've earned later stores
- Variety in NPC design
- Amount of visible NPCs is great as you progress seeing your mall get 20 customers up to the 180 I've seen thus far.

While this Game is in early access it is worth picking up and the good does out weigh the bad I just hope that F13 is able to give us new content at reasonable rate so that we aren't waiting too long for new content or bug fixes.

Input lag isnt the issue

I picked this game up as i played the hell out of it when i was younger and it 100% holds up. But Patapon 1 will feel awful for one reason, perfects beats need to be near frame perfect this was the same as the original PSP version. Patapon 2 fixed this issue by extending the amount of frames needed for a perfect note. But these are the exact same games that released on PSP in much higher resolution.

Edit:
Also difficulty of both games alters the timing of notes making the timings needing to be more precise.

I recommend this game just not yet

What do I mean? Its a very interesting concept and thought the demo showed some promise back during the Next fest last year but this is an incredibly bare bones early access compared to some of the other simulator games that released since that Next fest.

What I loved:
- Concept is interesting, Before last years next fest that featured this game I expressed that I would love a simulator game that was about running a cinema and it definitly doesn't have the depth to scratch that itch.

- Game runs well out side of expected early access bugs there were no major issues for myself though I have seen reviews that have expressed more bugs

- Special film events, this was a really nice touch and does add some very lacking depth.

What I didn't enjoy/ What needs to be improved:
- I bought this to run a cinema not have the entire thing automated at day six. Now some people may cope this comment saying that "don't buy the staff if you actually want to play the game" and to a point I agree and usually the singularity point of automation doesn't happen until around 50-75% through the game where it then will play itself but with this game if you get lucky on the staff roulette you can automate it incredibly easily

- Lack of progression, Cinema level means nothing why aren't upgrades and films locked behind this it would add so much more play time and maybe get me to thing about films and pricing.

- All the AI generated content, I hope to god this is just place holder for the time being and will be eventually replaced with meaningful films. There are some avenues to go down for this. The first is the devs make the films and do something interesting with them or get the community involved and hold competitions to have fan made films featured in the game. It would make the films worth watching than having the same 5 seconds of AI slop running on repeat.

- Character models, due to the amount of customers I cant stand seeing 17 of the same person sat in the lobby. I understand that with all these NPCs there are going to be repeats but again I hope they are place holder to later be replaced as it is semi obvious (Could be misrepresenting this) that these are stock assets from the game engine as the cashier has a name badge that doesn't reflect their hired name and just states "Paige". Customers also run and clip through walls and each other which is funny at first then just gets annoying.

- No achievements, I really hope these are in the pipeline they are fun to chase especially if there are a couple that are a bit of an endgame grind.

- Seat selection is annoying, customers request to be seated in taken seats which means customers being dissatisfied and there's nothing you can do about it. This was one of the most frustrating things for me. Also the customer walk speed is comically fast maybe scale it down by 20%

- Lack of snacks at the snack counter and there being no explanation of using both popcorn and soda machines meaning players aren't introduced to these mechanics in a safe environment leading to further frustration.

To conclude wait to purchase its got a long way to go to be worth the price even if on a sale. I intend on refunding and comming back once its had some updates as this needed more time in the oven before releasing even into early access.

I have played a lot of simulator games and this by far is one of my favourites. The idea of automation that is actually better than just setting employees to do something and having to set up your machines in a way that is both space conscious and efficient scratches a part of my brain that the other simulators don't.

Things I love:
- Automation of the recycling machines.
- Unique game play loop of scavenging from different sites.
- simple to understand.
- Its not a grind where you go days and days without an upgrade.

Things that I don't like:
- Performance is a massive issue for me I unlocked all upgrades and machines and on my 3070 the game would chug like crazy. I know its early access so it will be rough around the edges but even reducing quality to low and resolution down to 1080p from 1440p maybe put the frames up to around 30 which really took me out of the immersion. but when it runs well its super enjoyable

- No auto sorting machines, to save space my machines all fed on to one circular conveyor belt to stop products from littering the ground but it took for ever to sort manually which is partially a skill issue on my behalf and how i designed my recycle system but i would love to see a splitter that you can set to detect certain products of a base material and send them in a different direction and even put them on a pallet for you .

- Diversity of areas, while I've not got to the max level i feel like I've already seen every locale it would be nice to see more visually distinct locations and trash or even a system where we can scrap bigger items like cars for large amount of metal.

Over all I loved my time with this game and even though its rough around the edges its got a wholesome charm of turning into something. and I'm excited to see where it goes i highly recommend picking it up.

As someone who has played all of the Yakuza/Like a Dragon Games, Gaiden is once again another stellar hit from RGG the sound design and the story rich experience you experience throughout your journey is amazing. In an era where games are full of over development to create a shoddy product just to make money like MW3. LAD Gaiden which was made in 6 Months is a shining example of its not the amount of money you throw at a game or time you have its the creative ability of the studio making it.

As a Pokemon TCG and MTG player i can say without a shadow of a doubt that this is one of the best TCG video games out there. The solo mode is great as a tutorial and even better to test decks. Dueling feels great with thousands of cards across Yu-GI-Oh and whilst there are micro transactions gems are given out really frequently and you can get the battle pass for free with the gems you earn.
