ABSOLUTELY, AMAZING GAME!

I've always had a love-hate relationship with Necesse, why? because I don't really like all the aspects of managing settlers, wish it was a less of a chore. At the beginning, I felt the game was just a convoluted mess, trying to be many game genres.

As I kept playing it, it grew on me and now it's being a blast playing the 1.0 version of the game.

I must add the even though, the game went through a huge sprite revamp, the game still has the issue that you can lose track of where your character is when a lot of stuff is happening on the screen.

For me, the only CON of this game, is getting into the settlers mechanic to its fullest.

That being said, sadly, I can not recommend this game, why you may ask, well it's been these many years yet we can't have a proper mining sound effect. I want a mining sound that represent us hitting a rock or metal. It sucks that chopping a tree and mining a rock or ore, sound the same.

Yes, I'm this level of petty. I'll change my thumbs down into a thumbs up, the very day we get a new mining SFX.

UPDATE: Game feels like playing an MMO with massive de-syncs, rubberbanding and random freezes in single player mode. This never happened to me in the old version of the game.

HyonD is such a talented artist. Support him and Ashmore by buying this Supporter Pack. They have put sweat, tears and passion in the creation of this game.

Can't wait to see what else can HyonD create for supporter packs.

Be mindful, that the game depicts nudity at the very beginning, until you start picking up loot. You can disable this in the options just in case that you don't like seeing female breast and penises flailing for a while.

This is a must have, period.

I think this is the third Early Access game I support and I can say that I don't regret it. The game is fun, not perfect but fun nonetheless. It still have a few performance issues but the developed team it's always working on performance, and that's always a good thing.

I can write a thesis about the game, but no one has time for that, lol. All I can say is that I recommend this game to all of those pixel art lovers that want a game to sit back and relax while you explore the HUGE world that is waiting for you.

My original E.A. review still stands. I can't recommend this game enough. It's really fun and it has a lot of room to keep growing, and growing. You won't regret it.

Game's really fun and it's very promising. Dev (this being 1 man programming the game+a graphic artist) is very active, has taken every single piece of feedback into account and made changes based on that. I highly recommend the game :)

EDIT: as of today (late 2023), the game has become a "play these 4 builds" to ROFL stomp all content.

EDIT 2: with the 0.9 update [Beta TEST] (July 2024), a lot has changed. Most changes are going into the right direction, now you can pretty much clear everything at Wrath 10 difficulty with every single build and with little equipment investment. Collecting weapons is easier now, leveling is faster too. There are more to come in the final update, so most likely things will change.

So far, and after 8K+ hours, I still recommend this game.

EDIT 3: So devs have already delayed the last update three times. Apparently, they don't want to split the player base between live server and experimental branch, but at the same time, they just announced that they will have a CLOSED beta for a selected few, to try the final update.

So they don't want to split their small player base, or they do? Not only that, they are going, to select a few and leave others out on purpose. Please, someone make it make sense.

P.S. They only opened the experimental branch once, it is not that it was open for the whole E.A. stage of the game. And unless I live in another dimension, there has never been a discussion about some players raging about having to choose between live server or experimental branch.

Finally a Pokemon like game done right!

WARNING: As of May 30th 2024, they just announced they are fully abandoning the game. They will remove the multiplayer aspect of the game (a feature many bought the game for) and they won't give anymore fixes.
The game still have game breaking bugs like getting your save file wiped.

They plan on keep selling this game, PLEASE DON'T GIVE THEM YOUR MONEY and DON´T SUPPORT ANY GAME MADE BY THIS STUDIO or DEVS FOR THAT MATTER.
