I am a huge fan of the original game but the optimization on the sequel is just hideous. I'm hardly running a low-end rig but this game slows to a crawl whenever it reaches certain areas rendering the game unplayable.

I enjoyed the original Puzzle Quest but this one just feels cheap. Having the crystals drop from all angles might have seemed like a great idea for a "challenge" but it throws strategy out the window in favor of random drops. Unfortunately these drops don't seem quite so random for your AI opponent who somehow manages to get massive bomb row and shield drop combos on a regular basis. Throw in a half-hearted story line, and some equally lackluster "hacking", "mining" and a confusing crafting system and you have an inferior package in every way from its precedessors. Pass.
