I want to enjoy this game, but it's far too frustrating in it's current state. I'm likely going to keep playing anyway in the hopes of having good games, but I doubt I will.

The missions are almost impossible to complete in order to level up the factions because they require you to get a specific number of some items and evac with them, which sounds simple enough, only it isn't. You drop onto the planet and almost every area you go to has already been looted, leaving behind a few smattering of things (none of which you need, and all of which you likely already have a stack or more of in your stash). On the off chance that you do find those items you need, you definitely wont find enough in a single run, and you likely wont be able to escape with said items anyway because someone will be evac camping to kill you if you even make it to the evac. The most likely scenario is other players will use the in-game voip to tell you that they're friendly or pretend to have a friendly chat only to shoot you the moment you let your guard down, or they're chatting you up so their teammates can flank you and catch you off guard. Out of the many encounters I've had with players who use the voip in game, only 2 of them have been genuine and friendly. A team hiding out from a storm and chatting with myself and a friend until it passed and we went our separate ways, the other was a player who only had a knife and was alone (his friend had died to a creature, also knife only). He was only running through for loot. My friend and I dropped him a few things to get some k-marks with, even pointed out guns we found for him to pickup and gave him ammo for them. We traveled together across the map looting and eventually evacuating together, and added each other after. Those are the only 2 good encounters I've had with players claiming to be friendly. The rest all shoot the second they see you after chatting, or have teammates flank as stated before. The missions that require you to kill certain creatures in certain areas are much easier to complete, as even if you die the kills are obviously still counted.

There are missions that require you to, for instance, get into the locked room in an area. This means you have to go around said area and find all the batteries and put them into the slots that power the door. From what I can tell, they all take 3 batteries, which means if you're alone, good luck because it would take forever to do this and staying in one spot for too long almost certainly spells death as solos, duos, and trios are all put into the same matches, not separately queued. This makes trios the obvious choice to play, since solo means you are always outnumbered when you run into players.

Having to loot creatures or players after killing is a pain because the loot drops spread out on the ground instead of just looting the corpse, which would be much easier (like looting boxes or cabinets in locations). Half the time there's tall grass or water, or the loot might drop under the body of the large creatures which makes it impossible to see so you have to scour to make sure you pickup the items they drop. When you kill a player, their weapons and armor all drop individually, and then their backpack drops (which you can at least loot like a container). If they have attachments on their weapons you want for instance, you would need to pickup the weapon, remove the attachments, and then drop said weapon, then apply those attachments to your weapon, which takes WAY too much time to do in a game where you could be shot at any moment.

The sounds in this game are honestly terrible. The storms are so loud you can't hear anything. Meteors will fall to the planet which can be mined, and make loud explosive sounds as they enter the atmosphere (theres always one large one, and many small ones, so you hear the sounds about 8 times in a row) and there are certain actions like upgrading a data drive at an uplink station (mission objective) that cause extreme sound which also which brings every creature in the area to the uplink station, and likely any players nearby who will then kill you, causing you to lose anything you'd looted as well as the data drives you need for said mission (happened to me 2 matches in a row, losing 4 data drives total as 2 were needed for the mission i was trying to do). Other sound issues are walking on rocks or glass causes the loudest ASMR you never wanted, and players being able to walk right up on you half the time without you ever hearing their footsteps until they're breathing down your neck. There are ore veins you have to mine by hitting it with a pickaxe, which takes way too many strikes to break and is also extremely loud on each of those strikes, and half of them on the planet are clipping through walls or rocks that means you can't mine the rest of it, even though they're exposed to view.

You have a safe pocket area you can put items into keep after death, which starts at 5lbs and can be upgraded at your residence by like 1 or 2lbs at a time, but in order to do so you need loads of materials as well as 'scrips' which you get from completing missions for the factions, which again is impossible because you'll be killed by evac campers so you wont get out with the materials needed to complete said missions, upgrade your residence, or to craft things with. The space you get for those safe pockets is relatively useless as a single item you may need will take up that entire space when you need to collect 3 or more of those. So even if you die you really only kept one of them, and most items that would be worth saving are well over this weight limit taking upwards of 15lbs to 25lbs or more. Your stash has a limited slot number, instead of going by weight like your backpack does, so you'll often have to sell items to clean that up, even though you know you'll likely need the items later that you'll probably end up selling to make space.

The gunplay is a joke from what I can tell and from what I've heard from friends as well as players in the game's discord server. I've been sniped and almost killed in a single shot, and in the same match hit someone twice with a sniper only for them to go inside and heal, then flank me with a pistol and kill me in a couple shots. I've had players kill me with a shotgun from way further than it should be doing as much damage as it is, and have read or heard multiple accounts of being killed with SMGs from sniping range. Or the overabundance of cheaters in the game (which it is a free game and just released, so the devs have work to do there). The quality system (like fortnite) where weapons, attachments, armor, etc all have common, uncommon, rare, epic, legendary seems to make little to no difference at all, especially when it comes to the armor. There seems to be no rhyme or reason to how much damage you deal or receive based on the quality of the weapons and armor yourself and enemy players have equipped.

The AI creatures in the game have ridiculous aggro range, and they sometimes aggro the wrong person. We've gone well around enemies who will aggro from a mile away and chase us down. Sometimes the first person to pass said enemy isn't even the one they focus on. A game today my teammate passed the enemy which alerted it, and when it came running it targeted me instead of him.

All this being said, if you're fine with stress and frustration and enjoy the grind, this game is a good fit, but definitely needs more updates to fix bugs and hopefully include more features or gameplay changes to make the game more balanced.

As I said before, I want to enjoy this game, but all these factors make it too frustrating to recommend to other players. This is of course my experience and views on the game, so take that with a grain of salt. It's F2P, so you lose nothing by trying it out yourself.
