It's better than it takes two. Quite a bit better. It's a great two player coop experience. Not too difficult but also not overly easy. Great visuals. Runs perfect on Linux too.

This is a poorly designed video game.

Objectively. I know this game has a lot of fans. But objectively this game is not well designed. You will not enjoy this game if you approach this like a regular video game.

The only way to enjoy this game is to play it as if it was a fan translation of a Japan-only Dreamcast game released in the year 1999. The controls are objectively bad. But of course that makes the game harder. Which some people might see as a benefit. The control scheme makes no sense for PC, but remember: You’re playing a console game from 1999 so you cannot complain about that. There is no real progression without using a guide but playing the original Legend of Zelda without a guide also would be considered a bit of a daft thing to do these days.

And the fans will tell you that you just need to give it more of a chance or that you don’t appreciate the true beauty of the design. And they are wrong. This game can only be truly appreciated by somebody who is already a fan of it. It’s like the original Shenmue or Doshin the Giant or Ikenie no Yoru. Charming and unique with a dedicated, nearly fanatic fan base and definitely ahead of it’s time in 1999. But not good. Not actually good.

And I wanted to like this. There are some good ideas here and there but in the end it doesn't deliver. If you want a hard game play Sekiro, it has actual mechanics. If you want story or exploration play ... like any other RPG like the Witcher 3 or Skyrim. Initially one thinks there is exploration but the world of eldenring is empty and frankly boring. If you want Japanese quirkiness get Katamari or get a Nintendo Switch or actually like get a real dreamcast. If you want a bunch of classes and mechanics get disgaea 5.

Just not that enjoyable. Would not recommend. 3/10

Genuinely great game, especially with friends! There's been years and years of updates and new content. The procedurally generated levels are only rarely utter bullcrap, and even then it's fun.

Single player is excellent. Online is predatory, grindy but fun.

They broke online on Linux with their new anti-cheat. I cant play the game anymore. That's Bad. Literally unplayable. 0 / 5.

The DRM breaks the game on Linux/Steamdeck. I want my money back.

The new DRM breaks the game on Linux. I just got started with the DLC and now I can't play the game anymore! Seriously why would you think it's OK to add intrusive DRM into a game i already paid for? I liked the game before but now i feel robbed of the money i payed for this. Apparently the DRM also makes the performance terrible on windows but I cannot personally confirm that on Linux because THE GAME DOESN'T EVEN START ANYMORE!

You'd think that a game wich is petty much just "soccer with cars" would be really boring. But you'd be wrong. The game look gorgeous and it's a loot of fun. New stuff is added all the time.

It's the most innovative shooter I've played in years.

The only thing you need to remember when playing this game is: Don't starve.

And also don't get killed by an giant tree.
