You ever get a warm, fuzzy feeling when you play a great game the first time? A feeling that makes you want to spend countless hours in this virtual world, sleep and chores be damned? Expedition 33 is the first game in a long time to give me this feeling. From the moment you start the game, the world of Expedition 33 grabs your attention and never lets go. Its hard to pinpoint what the best quality of this game is, as each element could stand on its own in capturing a memorable experience.

As someone who doesn't usually enjoy most RPGs for game play reasons, Sandfall Interactive has been able to craft a satisfying game play loop reminiscent of other action RPG games I enjoy, such as the Mario & Luigi series, as well as the well beloved Chrono Trigger.

The breadth of genres represented in the OST is spectacular, and not once so far have I grown tired of any of the tracks as I find myself humming along to their melodic beats.

The story is very unique and the setting is parts sci-fi and fantasy, with a scary array of monsters, puppets, and abominations. The atmosphere is incredible, leaning into the aesthetics of 1800's France with well acted performances. In fact I discovered this game because of the voice actor of the main character, Charlie Cox, who also plays Daredevil. So far this game is reminding me of Xenoblade Chronicles 3, another game with similar themes.

Anyway, this game has blown away my expectations and I can't wait to see this expedition through to the end.

A worthy sequel to Rivals 1, Rivals 2 is an amazing platform fighter that feels as smooth as butter with a well animated and fun to play roster.

I'm leaving a review to commend the animation team alone, this is probably some of the best work in the whole industry!
