Shining Song Starnova is a great little management sim with a whole lot of charm! I personally spend most of my time playing just enjoying the cute sprites and voice lines, but the game is good too .-. It's already been getting consistent updates since it's early release and it is turning out to be a well polished gem of a game :)

Man, where to even begin with this title...

This was my first real experience with the Visual Novel (VN) medium, and I couldn't be happier that I chose Shining Song Starnova. I highly recommend this VN to anyone. I loved everything from the characters, the art style, the music, the stories, and the messages and meaning conveyed by these stories.

While the characters all have their 'trope' that makes them come off as a generic VN character/idol group member, the game actually addresses those tropes, and dives deeper into each character on her own routes to develop them beyond our surface level understanding, and judgement, of them.

I love that this game delves a little deeper into the world of Idols, and entertainment as a whole, to offer a more realistic and relatable experience. However, this game is heavily a work of fiction/drama, The scenarios you find yourself in aren't exactly impossible, but they are highly exaggerated (as many good stories are) and kind of plays into this sense of irony/self awareness that the game has in being an anime/VN.

All in all, this is a fantastic read. It took me about 45 hours to fully read every line in the game, experience every CG, look at all the backgrounds, and appreciate the music. I have personally been inspired by the girls of starnova to better myself, and I took to heart the morals of each of their stories. For me, this title was life changing. I do not expect it to have such a profound effect on everyone, but never-the-less this is a fantastic work of art and literature.
