Corporal Farley and General Owen were the only personnel that were named. Although it was not readily apparent at the time, the Ambush at Whiskey Outpost was a major turning point in the war. In addition to opening the door for Rico taking command of the Roughnecks (which was later consolidated by Carl), Carl later revealed that the elaborate trap that the bugs used on Whiskey Outpost confirmed that there was a brain bug on Planet P, and was the only reason to justify the upcoming invasion to capture one.
Whiskey Outpost was a Mobile Infantry installation on Planet P. During the Klendathu System Campaign, the base was commanded by General Owen. However, the Bugs swarmed the base and killed all the personnel (except for Owen, who hid in a storage locker). The bugs then sent a distress call to the Federation Fleet, bringing in the Roughnecks. This was part of an elaborate trap on the Arachnids part to set a trap of their own.
