Sworn is a game of compromises- a thing that trades some of the influences of it's chief influence, Hades, for some nice additions. Will it have the same charm and storytelling depth as Hades? No, but that also came from a studio with several excellent games under their belt. Sworn does a decent job providing the moment-to-moment excitement of Hades' gameplay while providing more options, and a key feature- Co-op.

Even if Sworn didn't have Co-op, I might still be interested in an Arthurian take on Hades' formula. With co-op, that interest is sealed. Having played over 10 hours of it, I am willing to recommend it. I have had very few issues, save for some co-op specific ones, and none of them game-breaking. Your mileage may vary, but if you enjoyed Hades, and have 1-3 friends to play with, Sworn is an easy recommend.

Some of the best writing in games recently, at least in my opinion. A tonal triumph, though the only thing I can really critique is that the endgame has the max payne problem where you stop playing like its a Hong Kong action film and have to be more careful/stop and pop- if it didn't get more challenging like this, however, it would obviously not escalate and be pretty boring, so even that isn't particularly a flaw. At its price point and system requirements, this is one of the only games I can recommend without any caveats (alongside Return of the Obra Dinn). Excellent work all around.
