As the Duke of Flanders, I had a responsibility to help bring in trade for my leige lord, King Phillip II of France. I had married his Aunt, but weren't too close. She hated my guts. The Kaiser of the Holy Roman Empire, unfortunately, seemed to have nothing better to do than try to gains all of Frisia back, so he started slowly conquering my territories one at a time. Phillip, being a 10 year old boy, couldn't muster the armies to fight the Kaiser, so I lost my first county. In the fighting, I was taken prisoner by the Kaiser and held for 5 long years. In the meantime, one of my counts revolted against me, trying to establish himself as the Duke. I quashed his petty rebellion without mercy and banished him from the lands, instating a trused advisor in his place.

I'm finding CK2 pretty interesting. I'm still trying to figure out the game, and I'm not sure everything I can do at this point, so my opinion might yet change. Its really open ended, and there are no real goals, which is both good and bad. So far, its really shining in telling stories more than anything else:
